Few months ago, I had surgery with Datuk Balwinder Singh, an exceptional ENT doctor, and I can’t recommend him enough. From the first consultation, he put me at ease with his deep knowledge and clear explanations of my condition and the procedure ahead. He took time to answer my questions, making sure I understood every step, which gave me real confidence going into surgery. The operation went smoothly, and I’ve felt so much better since—my recovery has been quicker than I expected, with no complications. Dr. Balwinder’s professionalism shines through, but it’s his genuine care that stands out; he checked in post-surgery and gave practical advice that made a big difference. The clinic was clean, and the staff were supportive, which added to the positive experience. Any surgery comes with risks, but Dr. Balwinder was upfront about them and planned everything carefully to minimize issues. If you’re looking for a top-notch ENT specialist in Malaysia, he’s your guy. Just make sure to share your full medical history during the consultation to get the best care possible. I’m truly grateful for his skill and dedication, and I’d trust him again in a heartbeat.

I had been struggling with allergies, constant sneezing, and a blocked nose that affected my sleep for a long time. Deciding to see Datuk Dr. Balwinder was honestly one of the best decisions I’ve made. He was thorough, clear in his explanations, and very reassuring from the first consultation. I felt confident and well-informed throughout the whole process. The surgery went smoothly, recovery was manageable, and the follow-ups were attentive. The biggest difference now is that I can finally breathe properly and sleep peacefully at night. Truly grateful and would highly recommend him to anyone facing similar issues.

I saw Datuk Dr Balwinder after many years of suffering from: 1. a blocked left nostril (especially when laying down, which disturbed my sleep) 2. frequent runny nose 3. sensitivity to smoke (like cigarette smoke) He did a painless nasal endoscopy and later a CT scan, where I found out I had a deviated septum to the left and enlarged turbinates in both nostrils. He clearly explained my condition, highlighted different surgical methods, and shared his informative YouTube videos. I was well informed throughout. Subsequently, I was admitted in August 2025 at TDMC for a 3-in-1 surgery (deviated nasal septum correction, turbinoplasty and FESS). I am very happy that Datuk Dr Balwinder performed the best method for turbinoplasty that preserves natural nasal function. Fast forward two months now: I can breathe, sleep, and do sports much better. No more nose block or runny nose! Glad that I made this decision for my health. Thank you so much, Datuk Dr Balwinder & team.

I had been struggling with sleep-related issues for quite some time due to my blocked (deviated) nose septum, which eventually led to constant headaches, daytime tiredness, and difficulty maintaining focus. I had previously seen two other specialists, but I was prescribed nasal sprays that unfortunately did not resolve my condition. My symptoms continued to persist. After doing my own research, I decided to consult Dato’ Dr. Balwinder — and it took just one visit for me to feel confident in proceeding with surgery. His evaluation of my condition was precise and reassuring. With my complications of deviated septum, turbinate and enlarged tonsils, it became clear that nasal sprays alone would never have been effective. Surgery was the right solution. I underwent four procedures: deviated septum correction, turbinate reduction, FESS, and tonsil surgery. The improvement has been remarkable where I finally breathe properly through my nose after many years of not having able to. It has been five weeks since the procedure, and the change has been truly life‑changing. My breathing feels clear and satisfying, and I now sleep without interruptions caused by poor breathing. After seeing multiple specialists, I finally found the right one. Having a doctor who can correctly identify the root cause of the problem and then able provide the right treatment truly makes all the difference.

For many years, I struggled with severe snoring and frequent awakenings at night because I couldn’t breathe properly. This left me constantly fatigued, affecting my daily routine, work performance, and even my ability to enjoy sports or social activities. In November 2025, a home sleep test confirmed that I had severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). A close friend recommended Dr. Balwinder, ENT specialist at Taman Desa Medical Centre, and I am truly grateful for that advice. From my very first visit, Dr. Balwinder listened attentively to my concerns, reviewed my report thoroughly, and explained my condition with great patience. Despite seeing countless patients with similar issues, he never rushed and made me feel genuinely cared for. After conducting a scoping, he explained that my airways were narrow, which was causing my breathing difficulties. He presented two options — CPAP or surgery — and carefully detailed the pros and cons of each. I chose surgery, and I appreciated how he emphasized that while snoring may reduce to varying degrees, the main goal was to restore quality sleep. Before the procedure, Dr. Balwinder even shared educational videos to help me understand the surgery better, which gave me confidence and peace of mind. After the surgery, the difference was remarkable — my breathing felt open and natural, even during the day. Three months later, I can confidently say the results have been life-changing. My snoring has reduced significantly, my daytime sleepiness has improved, and I now have more energy, focus, and motivation. My mental health has benefited, my interactions with family and friends feel more positive, and I’ve become more physically active. Even my job performance has improved. The healing process was challenging, especially in the first two weeks with pain while chewing, swallowing, and talking, but it was worth it. Overall, choosing surgery was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I appreciate Dr. Balwinder’s clear explanations, his genuine care, and the professionalism of his clinic staff who followed up diligently. I no longer have to rely on a device for sleep, and I feel healthier, more energized, and grateful for the care I received. I would definitely recommend Dr. Balwinder to anyone facing similar issues. At the very least, schedule one visit — it could be the first step toward a healthier, more restful life.

I had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Balwinder for several reasons: 1. His expertise in the area of ENT. After getting tonsillitis several times a year, I visited Dr. Balwinder for his opinion. He advised me to get my tonsils removed as they were compromising my immune system, affecting my sleep, and were disproportionately large. He later discovered I also had a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates, which were further impacting my sleep quality. If he had never looked through my nose, I would have never known I had another problem impacting my sleep quality. 2. Beneficence: Acting in the Best Interest of Patients. Throughout the consultation, surgery, and recovery process, Dr. Balwinder has always been kind and compassionate. In consultations he would ensure minimal pain during the endoscopy. When scheduling for surgery, he made sure there was a time that was most convenient for me, as I had to leave for university soon. Finally, during the recovery process, he would regularly check in on me through Whatsapp and was always available to answer any questions or concerns that I had. Having a medical professional like Dr. Balwinder made me feel respected and comfortable as a patient and as a friend. 3. My Sleep is a Lot Better! Before surgery I used to struggle with sleep apnea. 2 months after getting my tonsils removed and my nose fixed, my sleep quality has improved. I mouth breathe less as I can breathe through my nose clearly. On a day-to-day level, I no longer have frequent nose blocks and tonsillitis, which has allowed me to feel more energised. If anyone struggles with a similar issue, I would recommend you see Dr. Balwinder. 4. No Empty Nose Syndrome: Going Above and Beyond as a Doctor Dr. Balwinder shared many resources he created with me when I was a patient. One resource that really helped was his video comparing the "Best and Worst Turbinate Surgeries and How to Avoid Empty Nose Syndrome", which involved a detailed evaluation of various turbinate surgeries based on published research. Empty Nose Syndrome was a huge concern for me before I started this procedure because I didn't know how it happened. Dr. Balwinder carefully explained that empty nose syndrome resulted from the removal of an excessive amount of nasal turbinates. He also reassured me that his procedure, medial flap turbinoplasty, would be extremely unlikely to cause empty nose syndrome compared to more aggressive procedures like laser surgery. Having this reassurance from Dr. Balwinder allowed me to have full confidence in my procedure.

I consulted Dr. Balwinder for my surgery, and my experience with him has been exceptional. In my view, he is one of the most respected ENT surgeons in Malaysia. From the very first consultation, he was extremely caring and took the time to explain my condition in the simplest and clearest terms. He gave honest and practical advice, understood how I was feeling as a patient, and tailored his treatment accordingly. The surgery was performed by Dr. Balwinder at Taman Desa Hospital, and the entire experience felt professional and reassuring. The quality of the surgery, from my personal experience, was outstanding. It has now been two months since the procedure, and the improvement has been life changing for me. I have not sneezed even once, and my breathing feels like it did almost 20 years ago. My quality of sleep has increased immensely. I don’t snore anymore and there are no interruptions during my sleep due to lack of poor breathing. I am genuinely grateful for the care, skill, and attention Dr. Balwinder and his team provided. An amazing outcome, delivered by a highly skilled and deeply caring doctor.

A life changing experience. Since 2021, I've been dealing with severe nose blockage, runny nose and sneezing on a daily basis even after using antihistamines and I have trouble sleeping at night due to these issues. My underlying allergies on dust, pollen and animal dander does not help with this at all. When I finally had enough as it had been affecting my quality of life and also work productivity, I decided to go on google to find the right ENT specialist to help me with my issues, then I found Datuk Balwinder. On my first consultation via nasal endoscopy, Datuk mentioned that my septum is deviated and my turbinates are severely inflamed and I require surgery to correct my septum and also to reduce the size of my turbinates. On 27th January, I got 3 separate procedures: 1. Turbinoplasty (Turbinate reduction) 2. Septoplasty (Deviated Septum Correction) 3. Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery I was admitted on the 26th and got my surgery done on the 27th and I was discharged on the 29th. Shoutout to the nurses there too, I had a pleasant stay at KMI Taman Desa. Post op, my nose was filled with blood stained mucus as it is still in recovery and a stent was inserted in my nose together with a splint. The stent was removed the day after and contrary to usual cases I read online, my nose stopped bleeding the next day. Pain-wise, not so much but more so discomfort as the splint that I mentioned before was still in my nose and can only be removed 1-week post op. I was discharged on the 29th and I got to go home and recover at the comfort of my own home. For 1 week, I couldn't use my nose, nasal breathing was completely impossible and I couldn't smell and taste anything. It was a hellish week for me, sleeping was tough but I kept telling myself this short period of recovery is all worth the struggle and pain. After 1 week, I had a follow up with Datuk to remove my splints and it was then where things started to turn around and when they say you could finally "breathe in HD" and you could smell "colours", they weren't kidding!! My breathing is so much better, it's like I was discovering how to breathe again. My sense of smell gradually came back but I have to keep using the nasal rinse to avoid scabs in the nose. First few days after the nasal splint removal, you will notice a lot of bloody mucus when you use the nasal rinse, but it will clear up in a few days. Now, 1 month post op, I'm still using the nasal rinse to clean my nose from time to time, but honestly, what a life changing experience this had been for me. Everything about turbinoplasty/ septoplasty that I read online, other people's experiences where they go through a lot of pain after operation, is almost non existent with Datuk Balwinder. But of course, I'm speaking from a personal perspective, experiences may vary from one to another. To anyone who is reading this and going through the same thing as I did, if you have the means, go for it. Please, you will do yourself a wonderful favour. Learn how to breathe again, experience a better quality of life. You will be in good hands. Datuk Balwinder is basically the Gordon Ramsay of the ENT world, minus the yelling 🤣 To Datuk Balwinder, thank you so much for your amazing work. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon to take care of my nose. Keep changing people's lives for the better, may you always be blessed! 🫶

Thanks to Dr Balwinder, my sleep is no longer fragmented. I am more motivated and optimistic, now that I don't have a constantly blocked nose. My nasal inflammation was addressed by a safe and effective medial flap turbinoplasty. Previous ENTs only brought up laser surgery and turbinectomy. None of them even acknowledged other, potentially better methods like submucous resection, let alone the possibility of empty nose syndrome. A number of them just threw sprays and useless pills at me. Dr Balwinder also demonstrated real care for my health, not rushing to surgery until I could prove my symptoms. He is much better informed, experienced, and compassionate than any other ENT you might be able to find. Additionally, unlike with a previous doctor who gave me "laser surgery", Dr Balwinder actually followed up with me, and recovery couldn't have been smoother. That previous surgery was completely useless. All this to say he is an exemplary doctor. I had a unique situation in that, while my breathing was not completely blocked, it was stubbornly persistent and unresponsive to medicine. Nevertheless, Dr Balwinder took me seriously, and helped restore my quality of life. I am truly grateful for that.

We are very grateful to Datuk Dr. Balwinder for his excellent care and guidance. Last November, our son underwent tonsils and adenoids removal surgery at the age of 2 years and 7 months due to sleep apnea, snoring, and frequent fevers. Dr. Balwinder patiently explained everything to us, addressed our concerns, and gave us the confidence to proceed with the surgery. The surgery went smoothly, and our son has been doing very well since then. We have seen a great improvement in his sleep and overall health. Thank you, Dr. Balwinder, for your professionalism, kindness, and dedication. Highly recommended. ☺️
