EICR Importance
Electrical Inspection Condition Reports are a necessity for all installations, carries out every 5 years. This potentially dangerous situation was picked up on a recent EICR, where an unearthed metal switch was found, a repeat touch point, if the metal switch became live, there is no fault path for the fault current to go. The client was advised, and a plastic insulated switch was swapped with the metal unit.
