The people at Danes are really kind, and seem to want to do their best to get your car in and out as fast as possible.
I had some issues with them that resulted in me having to return 4 or so times to get my car fixed which was a bummer, but I appreciated that they were willing to fix the mistake made/ get the initial problem solved. John gave me a ride home the day they made the first mistake (was an issue with a part of the rear diff being the wrong part installed causing a nasty grinding noise when I drove off, and then the check engine light came back on) and was super kind and I didn’t feel as though he was talking down to me, being 22.
I think the issue was we were all tired of how long it was taking to get the stupid check engine light off. After coming back for the fourth time, I never wanted to see these guys again, no matter how nice they were haha.
I had agreed to replace the catalytic converter, which hurt my heart, soul, and wallet. When I saw that light turn on three times after I dropped so much money I was pissed, and they were definitely unhappy with the result as well.
They were kind and gave me a loaner car, and drove it to the front of the shop, keys in ignition and everything which was super nice, but when I got home I realized the car had no license plates. I’d say half on me for not checking, but also probably not the best idea to give out a car that doesn’t have plates on it even if it’s registered. That would’ve been an awkward and possibly expensive ticket.
I think I wouldn’t go back to Danes for anything else car related because I felt like they were trying to rush through things and get work done as fast as possible, which I get. Everyone’s trying to just live and make money and i really do get that diagnosing cars isn’t a perfect science.
I’d recommend them for simple problems where you know what’s wrong from the start, and probably not recommend going for larger jobs or diagnosing problems.
Ps, you guys left a grape vape in my car, as well as some rags. It made me laugh, and the rags come in handy for checking fluids and stuff- thank you! The vape not so much lol, but still funny.
Thanks for taking care of my car the best you could at the time, for reference, I went in for the first time 1-4-2024 and last time 1-24-2024 ish.
