We had a full damp course and replaster done by Damp Stop and couldn’t be happier. Communication was clear and professional from start to finish, and the team kept everything tidy throughout. We were away on holiday while the work was carried out, and everything was handled perfectly – a true sign of their trustworthiness and reliability. The quality of the work is excellent, and our walls look fantastic. Highly recommend Damp Stop for anyone needing damp-proofing and plastering done right!

I had a survey completed on the home I am buying in May 2025, the survey identified high damp meter readings. I then decided to request that Damp Stop go into the property in Darlington to carry out a damp specific survey. It turned out that there were issues and as a result of the survey, a damp course was required. Damp stop were excellent from the get go. They completed the survey really quickly and then the required works, a week later. Excellent communication from these guys, in depth information provided in the email correspondence, photos and detail. All in all, I was extremely happy with them and would have no hesitation in recommending them!

A really positive experience from initial survey through to completed works. The team were friendly and helpful throughout, easy to deal with, great at answering questions and responsive to accommodating our particular needs. Would thoroughly recommend them,

Damp Stop were the second people to come and look at an issue I had with my roof (the first roofer failing to correctly diagnose and fix the fault). In a time where we had two sets of storms ravage the area they cover, and Christmas; they managed to slot me in the second the festive season was over. I felt prioritised. The survey by Rich was efficient, quick and non intrusive. The report they gave was clean, detailed and professional. After contacting my insurance, I had a few questions for Damp Stop about the jobs they suggested in their report. Robert their operations manager was easy to reach and incredibly helpful. Going a step further to finding out answers with contractors so I had a full picture of what I needed to know. During what I can see is a very busy time, and during a stressful situation with our house - I am left with the opinion that Damp Stop have been friendly, flexible and focused. Couldn't think of anything I would change.

Great company and team. After a bad L3 survey highlighting issues we were in a panic and desperate for help. Damp Stop offered an extremely reasonable price for a pre-purchase survey, flexibility on scheduling, and listening to our endless questions/concerns. After all this, they sent us a detailed report with a very reasonable quote for works. Richard even called us right after leaving the property to talk through his findings, conclusions, and in-depth reasons as to why he came to the conclusions he did. The report included detailed pictures of all areas we were concerned about and you can tell Richard is extremely good at his job and cares about his customers. It's all in the details with Damp Stop, they go above and beyond to make you feel accommodated and cared for. Thanks everyone! (will revisit this review at a later date to update on the works completed at the property by Damp Stop)

Avoid this company at all costs. They refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes, blame customers for issues that are clearly their fault, and even lie to cover themselves. When we raised concerns, we were met with rudeness, dismissiveness, and false accusations. Instead of owning up to their poor service, they deflect blame onto customers and manufacturers. Save yourself the stress and go elsewhere. Regardless of who the contract holder was, I personally experienced the issues caused by the work and dealt with the consequences. As a resident of the property, I have every right to share my experience—just as others have.

I was advised 2-3 days in November, still can't use the room. (3-4 weeks 'to allow plaster to dry before it can be painted). Despite their website Damp Stop lack product knowledge - over application of adhesive (blaming the manufacturer) seasonal consideration (not rocket science in winter), lack of communication during the process, then accusations from the owner that any dissatisfaction is 'an excuse to withhold' payment from them. Apologises from them and then the next being shouted at and demands for immediate payment as soon as they left. Really unprofessional 💯

I needed Damp stoop for Mould and damp in my sitting room and bedroom. Richard was extremely helpful and the team worked late to finish the job, which was carried out professionally. I would have no hesitation using them again and would recommend.

This company write there own reviews to increase there star rating. Look and read the reviews into this company before any payment is made. Paid for work but it didn't need doing in the end. Took 1 year to get money back off Richard White. The guarantee counts for nothing. Gone into liquidation 3 times (see government website) Don't be fooled by the glowing website. Had to involve solicitors & courts. Be warned!

Brilliant service, found dry rot in one of my properties when doing a survey for me and they had it gone within 14 days. Would definitely recommend - friendly employees who went to extra lengths to avoid / clean up any mess made.
