Cunningham Turch Funeral Home did an amazing job with helping my family and I with helping us celebrate the life and legacy of my grandmother. Mr. Gary was awesome and the service was beautiful. The most beautiful experience our family has ever had with a funeral. I will forever recommend Gary Maxwell and Team! There’s simply no one better. My father was laid to rest in style, in celebration of his life and looking every bit as handsome as he had before entering the hospital. There is no funeral Home who could touch every aspect better than these guys! Thankful forevermore for a truly loving experience, we were truly treated like family! Gary, Keith and Dennis are spectacular, I think they may be real life Angels in disguise! Our entire family who attended today expressed joy and I can voice that in the midst of our loss from this experience start to finish, it was made a thousand times easier! Thank you!!

There are not enough stars to describe the extraordinary celebration of life service that Cunningham Turch funeral home gave my son! From the life size banner that was in the foyer, to the hard back funeral guest book with my son’s picture on the cover and pictures in the background on every page in the book. A beautiful collage was also placed in the foyer. When we entered the chapel, pictures of my son revolved around the walls. My son was a singer and his song filled the chapel and our hearts! They even had Bishop Taylor on hand who gave a beautiful eulogy! Thank you Mr. Gary Maxwell for rescuing my son and my family from DeVol funeral home in Gaithersburg Maryland. I remembered that in 2017 you gave a beautiful service for my then fiancée’s father. You took my son and gave him a beautiful and peaceful place to rest until he went home to be with God. When I call you and ask for your help. The compassion and kindness in your voice brought me so much comfort. You assured me that you and your staff would take care of everything and YOU DID! A special thanks to Mr. Keith Hambright for he extraordinary customer service, empathy, kindness and compassion. For taking everything off my plate and putting on an spectacular service and giving my family a peace of mind. I thank Cunningham Turch from the bottom of my heart and soul! God bless you all!

I am writing this review in appreciation for all that your staff did to make the passing of my loved one a wonderful experience. First, my family was not local to VA and when our uncle passed we had no one to direct us. My cousin visited two other businesses prior to entering your establishment when she arrived from TN. Your staff (Kyle) was so understanding and although we didn't know what my uncle had available, he began immediately helping her figure out where to start. As I stated the entire staff was professional and the day of the funeral at Pleasant Valley Memorial Park became a memorable moment for all the family members who where able to travel to VA. It was not difficult to write this review.

From the moment I walked through their doors, I was enveloped in a sense of comfort and care that made navigating this difficult period just a bit easier. I can’t say enough about how amazing Gary Maxwell was when my mom passed away in 2022 and again when my dad passed away in 2025. He was there for my family every step of the way and gave us his mobile so we could contact him at any time of the day. He always replied promptly with answers to any questions we had. We are Jewish, but we were unaware of some of the customs surrounding a Jewish burial. Despite Gary being Catholic, he was extremely knowledgeable and ensured everything happened properly. He has a very warm and caring personality and added lightness when we needed it. He truly went above and beyond all our expectations. I highly recommend Gary and Cunningham Turch!

Outstanding service above and beyond all my expectations! Thirteen years ago my mother died unexpectedly and I was tasked with handling her service. It was ridiculously stressful and I swore that I would not repeat that experience with my father. So, we planned everything well in advance and selected Cunningham Turch! It was a totally different experience and there were many extenuating circumstances that emotionally, I could not have handled without the support of Gary Maxwell and Keith! They coordinated with Arlington and ensured that the funeral, honored my father’s life while providing comfort to my family! I can’t possibly say enough to express my gratitude for all that they did!

Cunningham Turch made our experience with my father's life celebration easier to prepare for. Brenda treated us like family with warm hugs and encouraging words throughout our process. From the time that I called to inquire about how to prepare and what to expect Brenda's empathy/sympathy was so genuine. Dennis and Zack I can't thank you enough for the beautiful set up preparation at the church all the way through to getting us to the cemetery. The guest sign in book, photo album, trifolds, prayer cards and thank you notes were beautiful.The casket was amazingly beautiful and the surprise engraving was truly wonderful. Jae, thank you for answering my email regarding the photo collage and being so patient while I sent the photos via email.You did an amazing job!!!! I certainly cannot forget our driver, Rory for being so attentive to us all, but especially to my mother. You were kind enough to offer her snacks, water and made sure the temperature in the vehicle was just right for her. My family and I are deeply indebted to Cunningham Turch and Gary Maxwell for the brilliant job they did supporting us and the process following my dad's passing. Our situation was somewhat complex (to us) because the death took place in Arlington, but my Dad was to be buried on Long Island (NY), where none of us reside. Throughout, Gary made himself available to us 24 hrs./day, responding to our outreaches almost immediately. Further, he was sensitive to our needs, nonjudgmental about our many uncertainties, and ultimately provided the perfect balance of guidance and autonomy. He proactively acted as intermediary with the cemetery and had our dad's body transported flawlessly. Gary handled paperwork promptly and accurately. Though our situation was not (as far as I know) typical, Gary handled it impeccably. I'm comfortable wholeheartedly recommending Cunningham Turch Funeral Home.
