Crystal Lodge Hotel

The pictures show rooms in quite good condition and after arrival there is something completely different, dirty walls splashed with some liquids, mold and dirt everywhere, dirty sheets, the bathtub in the bathroom is destroyed and worn out for a long time. Service very nice and helpful butIf the photos in the advertisement presented the facts that it is, I would not decide to take children there, not in the conditions that prevail there

Booked this hotel on booking.com for me and my friend, and the room was very clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. Will be booking again if I am in the area.

I stayed at the Crystal hotel (June) as my own property was being renovated, I wanted to be close to my work (bus garage) and I stayed for 5 days, it was a little dated but clean, comfortable for a short stay and exceptionally quiet, staff were friendly and accommodating.

Completely no frills, to the point where there weren't any pillowcases. Our room was clean, the toilet room was clean, the bathroom looked clean but in such a bad condition that I couldn't use the shower or the bath. If you have nowhere else to go then yes this place meets the requirements for somewhere to rest your head.

Well what can I say! If you fancy a dose of bed bugs, scabies & Severe chest allergies then this Dive is the place for you! We visited booked in, saw the state of EVERY room as the manager tried to move us numerous times. Each one layered in dust thicker than the manager himself. Worst 90 minutes of our life! Hills Have Eyes have nothing on this place! Windows all smashed, Wiping your feet on the way OUT of your rooms never a good thing. All in all I've seen cleaner and healthier crackdens than this place.... GROSS

We checked in and had a whole talk about how the place is non smoking yet we walked into our bedroom that wreaked of smoke despite the window being wide open. We were also "upgraded" to a larger room due to others extending their stay. The bed frame looked like it would snap if we sat on the bed, the shower was mouldy, the flooring was torn, the floors clearly dirty not even the minimal effort of sweeping, overall the rooms are grim. Shared bathrooms had a weekly and hourly cleaning schedule to look as if they clean although nobody had initialed any of the spots to show they actually cleaned. Very cheap for London and decent location, but overall would never stay there ever again.

Seems unfair to give a low rating to an already self proclaimed 2-star hotel when you know what you're getting yourself into. The staff were lovely, facilities weren't as bad as the other reviews were saying and the family room I booked was really spacious. Only downside is the price and communal bathroom. It wasn't "filthy" though. Everything else was fine

Room a little on the small side. The room was reasonably clean and well presented. A coat of paint is needed to brighten the room, perhaps some artwork to break the walls up. The main issues were, shower head very dirty, shortage of towels, couple more pillows, lack of hanging space for towels. We had a warm welcome, explained everything very well. Helped with parking and carrying of luggage. It is ideal for a short break. The continental breakfast was adequate, perhaps a little more choice in terms of meat, cheese and bread/rolls. Overall happy with the choice of hotel.

Lovely little place. Clean. Friendly service and they were happy to let us check out a little late. Very nice bathroom with shower gel provided. Room was small but cozy and included a TV, kettle, fridge and fan.
