Not every rock chip means you need a full windshield replacement. If the chip is smaller than a toonie and more than 4 cm from the edge of the glass, it can usually be repaired instead of replaced.
👉 But in this case, as shown in the photo, the chip had already spread into multiple cracks radiating outward. Once the damage starts spidering like this, a full windshield replacement is the only safe option, which is what we did for this truck recently.
