Had these guys come work on my sewer in Sullivan. Told them I had a blockage or roots. They tried to clean it out, didn't work. Told me try it and see. Called and told them no go. They came back, messed with something else. Told me my sewer was needing replaced. They couldn't replace my sewer as they have no plumbing license. Recommended Hardy from Shelbyville. He jerked me around for over 2.5 month. Never showed up. Crouse collected a bill for serval hundred dollars for multiple visits knowing they would never be able to fix my 'city sewer". I would not recommend these guys unless you have a country septic system needing some snake work. No license needed for rural work.
Had Oye from Arthur come in, did his own evaluation and had the whole thing fixed in less than a week. Did major excavating and drilled thru the foundation wall, very quick and VERY affordable. Should have called Oye first.
Edit: Bretton, thanks for responding.
I want to clarify my side as well:
You mentioned clearing “a lot of roots,” but the actual issue wasn’t in the area you worked on. Oye’s updated camera system showed that the sewer layout was more complex, and the line you were snaking wasn’t even the correct line. The repair he performed had nothing to do with the fix you proposed.
I was charged for two visits even though, without a plumbing license, you were never going to be able to perform the actual repair that was needed. Snaking a line is one thing, but charging multiple times when you can’t legally complete the real work is what left me feeling taken advantage of.
As for the “detective work,” your diagnosis didn’t match the real problem at all. And the contractor you referred me to dragged things out for over 2.5 months and never showed. When you refer a subcontractor, that subcontractor becomes a reflection of your company — and that’s the experience I had.
Oye came in, did his own evaluation, excavated, drilled through the foundation, and fixed everything in under a week at a very reasonable cost. I wish I had started with him.
You shared your perspective, I’ve shared mine, and anyone reading can make their own conclusions.
