We recently completed the installation of an underground downspout drainage system in Shelbyville, KY to help improve water management around this home’s foundation.
Previously, several downspouts were discharging rainwater directly beside the home. Over time, this can allow large amounts of water to collect around the foundation, increasing the risk of crawl space moisture, foundation settling, soil erosion, and water intrusion issues.
Our team installed a buried gutter downspout drain system, tying the downspouts together and running them through underground drainage pipe to safely carry rainwater away from the home. Properly directing roof runoff away from the structure helps protect the foundation and reduces the amount of water saturating the soil around the home.
Installing an underground downspout drainage system can help:
• Move rainwater away from the foundation
• Reduce moisture around crawl spaces or basements
• Help prevent soil erosion around the home
• Protect the structural integrity of the foundation
• Improve overall drainage around the property
Managing roof runoff is an important step in protecting homes from long-term moisture and drainage problems. Proper drainage helps keep water from collecting where it can cause damage over time.
