Earth bonding is the act of connecting all metallic objects in a room, or house, to ‘electrical earth’; usually a gas and\or water pipe. A fault in an electrical appliance may lead to the all, or some, metallic objects in a room becoming ‘live’ – someone could get an electric shock by touching say, a radiator. Having these objects 'earthed' or 'bonded' means the MCB/RCD will trip before somebody gets a nasty shock. Its worth taking a few minutes to check your gas and water are earthed. There should be a yellow and green cable clipped to the pipes near the gas meter and mains water isolator. Get in contact if you have any conerns.
