Spending the day completing a EICR( electrical installation condition report ) . And this is one of a few finds ! This just goes to show that just because your lights turn on when you flick a switch , or your socket works when you put the plug in , it doesn’t mean that it’s in good safe working order ! The connectors on this light fitting have become very hot and started to melt and the next stage could be a possible fire ! Please don’t put the electrics in your house to the back of your mind , it’s always worth getting them checked !
