To chase or to trunk?
If you need to have a new circuit or wiring installed you will need to choose how the cables will be run, most electrical installations have the wiring chased into the walls and covered by plaster, leaving a neat finish with just the faceplates on show. However, if you have recently decorated and don't want the disruption of chasing walls or the hassle of plastering and painting, containing the wiring in surface-mounted trunking may be a better option.
Mini trunking can be routed discreetly along skirting boards or at high level between the wall and ceiling to avoid drawing attention, it also creates far less mess and requires less making good than chasing.
