✨ This Week is National Random Acts of Kindness Week… and I just found the most wholesome thing on the internet.
It’s called the Peptoc Hotline and it’s exactly what it sounds like. A real phone number where elementary school kids give you life advice. 🥹
It started in 2022 when two educators, Jessica Martin and Asherah Weiss, created a project about empathy with students at West Side Elementary in California. What began as tear-off posters with sweet messages like “It’s OK to feel sad” turned into a full hotline featuring pre-recorded pep talks from kindergarten through sixth grade.
Since then?
Over 25 million calls.
Why? Because sometimes the best advice comes from kids who keep it simple:
👉 “Take three big breaths.”
👉 “Be grateful for yourself.”
👉 “Don’t give up, power through.”
👉 “Bro, you look great!”
You can call and choose what you need:
Press 1 if you're frustrated.
Press 2 for life advice.
Hear kindergarten pep talks.
Listen to children laughing.
Get reassurance about how awesome you look.
Even hear advice in Spanish.
It was born out of tough times post-pandemic, wildfires, evacuations, when teachers noticed kids naturally supporting each other with compassion and wisdom beyond their years.
And honestly? We could all use a little of that.
Because kindness isn’t random.
It’s powerful. 💛
