After understanding a little about skilled nursing facilities, I realized that Coronado Ridge did the best they could in helping my aunt with her stay there.
But there's something you should know about a care center like Coronado Ridge is that there's a STATE CODE that says that they're not to do anything to prevent the patient from falling out of bed. It's called the, "free fall" code. These facilities don't tell you about the code for obvious reasons, and only notify you after your loved one falls out of bed, do they use this code to justify their actions for letting your loved one fall out of bed.
I've heard from more than one professional in the field that this is actually true, this code exists. So, be sure this is not a problem for your loved one before you go into any facility.
The thing I would like to see improvement in is communication. I'm sure that they can't notify me on every detail of every day, but, if something eventful happens, I would have liked them to inform me. I'm sure you would too. But, still, this is just a problem with communication.
Overall, Coronado Ridge is a beautiful facility, and I found the staff doing their job as best as they could, and trying to make the patient's stay there as comfortable for them as possible.
Thank you Coronado Ridge for taking care of my aunt, and thank you reader for listening to my opinion. I hope everything works for the best for you and your loved one.
