Hands down the best vet in North Carolina. When we moved from Chicago to Durham we struggled to find a vet we liked for our pup. After we booked with them we swore we would never go to another vet. The staff, the doctors, and everyone who works there is amazing. We did move back to Chicago but would drive if we could for our pups visit and vet needs they are that good!

The team at Cornwallis is the best! They provide such compassionate care while taking their time with my anxious, reactive boy, ensuring his needs are met. Highly recommend! 💙

This vet practice is hands down who I would refer all family, friends, and clients to in the Durham area. They are patient, gentle, well versed and skilled in the myriad of wide ranging treatment options available to enhance quality (and thereby quantity) of life for animals and their humans. My dog Billy is a 14.5yo pit bull who is my rock. She has lived an incredibly active life, and is now settling into the less mobile period. Acupuncture seemed unlikely to suit her preferences, but we gave it a shot and it’s been incredible. Routine maintenance, geriatric tenderness, acupuncture, laser therapy, impacted tooth pulling, copperhead bites—I’m sure we’ll add to our list of ailments we bring to them. I whole heartedly commend them for their integrative approach to care. Dr. Edwards is our favorite, but everyone at the practice exudes generosity and kindness. Thank you.

The staff was incredibly gentle and attentive. My pet was calm and comfortable the entire time, and everything was handled without the need for restraint. The vet clearly understands animal behavior and took the time to make sure my pet felt at ease. Highly recommend this clinic for anyone who wants compassionate, low-stress care for their animals.

We’ve been coming to Cornwallis for 5 years now - Dr. Edwards sees our English Bulldog, Lola alongside her amazing staff. Shoutout to Tara who treats our baby like her own ♥️ being a bulldog owner has its challenges and Dr. Edwards has personal experience caring for bulldogs so she understands the breeds common complications and is always so gentle with Lola. We are so happy with Cornwallis Hospital and feel so grateful for the patience and care the staff has given to our baby 🐶 if you’ve been looking for a vet who specializes in bulldog breeds- definitely bring them over to Dr.Edwards! They’ll be in excellent hands. 🐾👩🏻‍⚕️❤️‍🩹

We've been taking our dogs to Cornwallis Road Animal Hospital for 13 years and have always been happy with the care our pets received. Our current dog loves going to the vet and getting warm care from Dr. Jeffer and the team. They are very knowledgeable about current best treatments and seem to genuinely enjoy treating and interacting with all of their canine patients.

I’ve been going to this vet office for 30 years with 7 different dogs. I have never been disappointed with their knowledge, care, and compassion. For the last several years Dr Jeffer has been our guy! He is awesome, as is the staff. I would never hesitate to recommend this team.

We had two very beloved cats who were so well cared for during their lives at Cornwallis Animal Hospital. Toward the end of their lives, we were amazed by the continued care of the staff and Dr. Jeffers who was always willing to get on the phone, adjust medications, and provide advice about animal comfort, without our cats having to be dragged in to see the staff. They were comfortable at home and we had the best months that were possible as they juggled with disease, with generous, kind, and thoughtful support from Dr. Jeffers. Then when we needed it, we got great advice and care about the timing of euthanasia and a soothing and loving departure. We feel so much appreciation for the care and kindness that this practice provides -- from the front office staff all the way up to Dr. Jeffers and Mhoon, their love of and respect for animals animals and their wisdom just kept shining through. Recommend this practice most highly!

We have been taking our Pomeranian rescue to this vet for the last four years and always been impressed with the quality of care, but when we recently took in an unexpected Foster pup, we had our first experience with an urgent situation. The foster is a unique long haired French bulldog and within hours of bringing him home, I was convinced he had an ear infection. I called the vet and was told I could bring him straight in, 15 minutes later! They did such a thorough exam, treated his ear infection, and answered every one of my random questions about this unique breed. I feel totally prepared to foster him now, and based on their advice, I think we are actually going to keep him! was particularly happy with the time that each tech and the vet spent with us and the level of knowledge about this breed's health concerns. I highly recommend this vet for all your furry children!
