The owners, Jin and Tom are a cool father & son. The day and early evening employees are easy to deal with. This is an oldschool neighborhood store. You’ll find alcohol, caffeinated bevs, tobacco etc. and all the other usual vices like scratch tickets. Candy and ice cream selections are very adequate. People b!tch about higher prices but I’d rather support these guys than a corporate gas station owned by a sinister oil conglomerate. It’s a CONVENIENCE store. I’m willing to pay for the convenience of walking my dog down there and not having to drive (btw: leash your dog while inside the store FFS!). I’ll also gladly pay a few cents more to support a Northwest family business. Be nice to the people who work here. They have to deal with a lot of drunks and nasty aggro people. They close at 8 or 9pm, but that’s for the safety of the store’s customers and employees. This part of the neighborhood is pretty mellow, but Hank’s, across the street is known for over-serving blacked out customers. Every once in a while I encounter a$$holes on that corner but usually not before dark.
