Heroes of the Korean War
On June 25, 1950, North Korean forces launched a surprise attack against South Korea. The United States responded by calling for military assistance. The three years that followed have become known as the “hot” war of the Cold War.
More than 5.7 million Americans served during the Korean War, which started in 1950 after communist North Korea invaded South Korea. During the next three years, 33,741 American troops were killed or reported missing in battle. The death toll of American forces inside and outside the war zone was 54,246 and the total number of deaths during the Korean War has been estimated at nearly 5 million. More than half were Korean civilians
Honor all of them and their families and remember their sacrifices and dedications. South Korea is now a flourishing country, and its people are able to live without fear.
Thank you all the Fallen and the veterans and their families of the Korean war who defend our county for freedom
