What can I say? John is great. I've a couple of wall clocks that I've taken to him over the years. He's serviced both clocks, and repaired/restored them too. A really sympathetic job on both, and they're working great John always keeps you updated on the progress of the clock,. He's up front and honest about what can be done, costs, and timings. First things first - John answers his phone! We have just picked up our much loved carriage clock which has been fully serviced and is now ticking away perfectly. John has done an excellent professional job, completed on time and at the quoted price. We would unreservedly recommend John.

John repaired our grandfather clock when the mechanism broke, resulting in it chiming constantly. He did a full service and identified the issue. All work was discussed and quoted before he commenced making parts and repairing the clock. The face and pendulum were also restored and we are over the moon with the result. Very professional service, would highly recommend.

My wall clock has been dormant for a number of years and inspite of it being fairly bog standard John didn’t hesitate to solve the issue. It was a pleasure to deal with a craftsman of his calibre.

My grandfather clock has been telling the time for around 240 years and it has been the beating heart of several homes in our family. Then one day it just stopped and seemed a sad presence in the hall. So when I set out to get it serviced I wanted to be sure that the repairer was the best. And my search turned up John, who fitted that description perfectly. His work and his dedication are evident and even though I broke a bit of the pendulum putting it back together, he set about fixing that without fuss or charge. My Elliott mantel clock had not worked for several years, despite attempts to have it repaired elsewhere. Having discovered Clock Repairs Merseyside and read the customer reviews, I decided to give them a try. I was not disappointed. I found John to be, as others have stated, an extremely knowledgeable and friendly person who provides a very professional cost-effective service. On arrival at his workshop, he quickly analysed the problem and gave a very reasonable estimate. A few weeks later, with the movement cleaned, regulated, and a new main spring fitted the 30 years old clock is once more as good as new.
