This Clock is a C1955 Smiths Enfeild Round Dial Wall Clock, its a Time only Clock So Not a Lot To Go Wrong, it does However need some Rebushing Work, As you can see i Completly Take the Movement Down to Component Level, Although this is Much Easier on a clock like this being just a single train i will do the same on all clocks that come into my Hands, my Recomendation Would be To do This at least Every 5 Years on most mechanical Clocks, i am Going to also replace the Mainspring on this Clock just for Good Measure while the Clock is in bits, Although I Recomend a 5 year Service im very aware there are fewer & fewer Clockmakers Around, Lets hope new blood does come into our trade, its hard at times but in my opinion the best trade to be in, For Job Satisfaction it Takes Some Beating, The Satisfaction you get from the expression on a customers Face as there mind Goes Back to there Childhood & They Remember The Clock on there Grannys or Mums Mantal Piece Striking or Chiming that distinctive Westminster Chime Tune & it Looking as it did 50 years ago the Feeling i Get of Achievment is hard to match, I have Got The Best Job In The World.
