William Bothamley Born 1715 Died 1759 The clock Dates c 1750 its an 8 day striking Grandfather clock, a clock i have just purchased, it is in need of complete restoration it is beleved to have been owned by Lady Isobel Barnett & the picture depicts the clock in the left corner of the room this is a newspaper cutting that is taped onto the inside of the door, the brass dial lookes to have had the arch at the top added at sometime but i suspect this was a long long time ago, so i would say the clock is a marriage but on saying that it is a good one just like you get in life, the restoration will involve completly striping down the movement and dial the chapter ring will be resilvered & the brass being repolished, the case will be sympatheticaly cleaned & waxed, i will put some pictures up of the completed restoration this will be in the neer future, we have just reopened after some 13 weeks so we are busy with other restorations of customers clocks. i purchased the clock because of its early movement & the clockmakers reputation of quality & obvcourse its an added bonus that it may have been owned by Lady Isobel Barnet who was a famous presenter but later in life became very reclusive before this she was famous for appearing on whats my line from 1953 to 1963.
