We can Restore Grandfather Clock Dials, Traditional Grandfather clocks c 1730 to 1790 had what we call Brass dials, the chapter ring is silvered using special chemicals and the Brass spandrals etc are solid brass the spandrals are also a help in dating the clock among other things such as the movement & the makers name, the dating of a Clock depends on many things like the name of the maker the type of spandrals parts of the movement the case all these things aft to fit within a date period and also where the maker comes from has to fit with the type and style of the case as London clock cases had different features to what is called Provincial Clocks ie Lancashire Yorkshire Scotland etc they all have different case features and style's, because of the age of Grandfather clocks many over 200 years old they have passed through many hands and a few wars so many alterations are often found, this is not always a bad thing but clocks sometimes have movements and cases that where not born as one, this does devalue the clock, this is know as a marriage, some Clock marriages are good and some are very bad just Like in Life some of these Clock marriages if they are bad render the clock Worthless.
