C1900 Railway Clock Made By Joyce, This Clock come to us for Repair, Although it had been Repaired/serviced many times in its Life The Work was Exstensive, apart from the normal strip down and clean We decided to Fit a New Mainspring & Change the Fusee Wire To a More Suitable Kind, the wire that was on it was of the stainles steel type & in my Opinion is to hard & marks the Fusee Barrel so i use a softer Bronze type or a Nylon Coated this looks Better & Kinder to the Spring barrel, The Mainspring is also getting Changed , as you can see from the side by side picture to old one is in a poor state & looks from its shape to have been pulled out the Barrel with pliers instead of using a main spring Winder also pictured, the movement in genaral has had a hard life & it Bears many hammer marks punch marks file marks etc etc Rough work by any standard, The Clock was a timepeice in the Railway Station just a stone through from me which is now called the Technology Park in Wavertree but i beleive it may have been called Bikerstaff at some time in history ???? I will be Adding more pictures of the same Job as i complete the Work .
