One of my Jobs this Week is a 30 Hour Grandfather Clock Movement Made by a Welsh Clockmaker, The Customer Just Wants The Clock Movement Restored & Has no Real Idea What Faults It Has, The Main Problem Is it has not been Serviced Properly in its Life & it has had a long Life Probable Dating From Around 1790, the Last person to Service the Clock in 2013 or mess around with the clock more Like thought it was a great idea to wrap Wire instead of taper pins to hold the movement plates together, this is the most obviouse sighn of somebody who either does not know what they are doing or is to lazy to do the job right, Running out of Taper pins is not a good Reason, Anyway the movement was stripped down cleaned polished & has been pegged out & pivots checked for wear & Burnished, it will be completed this week then tested & Regulated, other Repairs included repairs to a snapped pendulum rod ? & a sheared of screw holding the hour hand in place, All in a Days Work i Suppose !
