This is a very attractive French clock by Ferdinand Berthoud born 1727 died 1807, Ferdinand was a scientist watchmaker and became master watchmaker in Paris in 1753 he was appointed to the king and navy and made some exceptional sea chronometer, this clock has been fully serviced and the minute hand had snapped so the 2 pieces where carefully brazed together then shaped, this was the only way as parts for many antique clocks are simple not available, this is part of a collection of one of my clients, he has quite a few fine clocks , the Frodsham and baker in an earlier post is also part of the same cliants collection,
