There is no such thing as overwinding a clock, there is no such thing as a drop of oil, these are things said in the past that are simply nonsense, there is only one way to repair a clock & that is for a start completely taking the movement apart & cleaning every part often by hand polishing pivots & also bushing any pivot holes that are worn & then go about making any parts needed , there is simply no quick fix with Antique clocks for us its the right way or no way.
We always repair & restore clocks the same way we will do the job properly we will not give the clock a drop of oil or blow the dust of the movement we just simply wont cut corners so much so that if we are not successful in the repair of your clock we wont charge & all estimates are completely free, all clocks that we repair or restore weather its a humble mantel clock or a Tompion longcase clock we will give your clock the same attention because we know that often the clock holds great sentimental value so attention to detail is very important, our idea of Antique clock restoration is the clock often has worked for many years so if we do our job properly the clock will run for many years to come, we are passionate & dedicated to the history of horology.
