This reproduction lantern clock came in for restoration from the Isle of Man, it was made by Smith's c 1955, it had been polished using brasso, this had eventually got in to the movement and the white residue it leaves had rendered the movement beyond economical repair, so our only option was to fit a quartz movement, & hands, we also completely striped the clock down and cleaned & polished it by hand, it looks beautiful we have sent the customer some pictures & they are delighted with the results, the clock holds a lot of sentimental value & had not worked for many years.
