Curious to know more about the Housing (Scotland) Bill that’s making its way through Parliament?
The Bill, published in March 2024, plans to put in place rent control areas designated by the government, and also proposes greater rights for tenants to personalise their homes and own pets.
Having passed its first stage and will go through two further stages before it becomes law. Secondary legislation will be needed to finalise all the detail, so it’s not expected to be in place until 2026/7.
