City Home Comfort

We chose to go with City Home Comfort because of the patience and professionalism of their customer service rep, Shawn Kahn. A tech nerd, he patiently walked me through the many options, specs and tradeoffs to enable me to choose a hybrid heat pump comination that balances our priorities of comfort and envioronmental responsibility while remaining within a reasonable budget. He outlined all of the items included in their quote that it turns out were not included in the lower initial quotes received from their competitors. His professionalism was matched by the installation crew that communicated well through the process and did a very neat and careful installation. It's only been running for a few weeks and so far everything has worked perfectly. They matched the equipment warranties with equally-long labour warranties (in the case of the heat pump up to 12 years). If I ever have a service issue that changes my recommendation I will update this review or post a supplement.

An HVAC company (not City Home Comfort) referred by my insurance broker replaced my hot water tank and recommended and installed a Rinnai RX160iN tankless water heater, promising instant hot water. Instead, it took four times longer for hot water to reach the taps than with my previous tank, and my water pressure dropped significantly. When I asked the owner to replace the clearly undersized unit with a standard tank at the cost of a tank, he refused — even after I told him I had consulted three respected local HVAC companies, all of whom said they would not have recommended tankless for my home and would have replaced it with a tank at a tank cost, and trained their staff better. I appreciated their professionalism and advice, despite not being their customer. Shortly after, the tankless stopped producing hot water altogether. Needing a replacement quickly, I again contacted the three companies. All were helpful, but I chose Shawn at City Home Comfort because he offered the best price and the quickest installation date. His guidance, patience, and knowledge were amazing! The installation was prompt and professional, and City Home Comfort matches their parts warranty with labour — my new tank includes six years parts and six years labour. Shawn receives many referrals from past clients, and I can see why. I highly recommend City Home Comfort.

City staff does have excellent knowledge of of HVAC. The guidance by Shawn is exemplary and the staff very detailed in their installations job. Only waiting for the paper work to be completed now. I recommend them for anyone desiring proper installation of HVAC system.

Do better City Home Comfort. Had them install heat pump in summer. Guys showed up late to install and had to stay till 11pm. At the end they left my humidifier disconnected. Later this fall they came to finalize the install and they had to run a new cable to heat pump. Not sure why they they didn’t do this the first time around. They cut 10 holes in the wall, some of which were totally unnecessary in my opinion, and left a huge mess. They didn’t move any of the stuff or ask me move anything, covered my guitar, drums and weights in dust etc. communication has been very poor from them overall. Made virtually no effort to clean up after themselves during either job. Now the controller for heat pump is broken and I’ve been waiting a week for the repair with virtually no communication from them.

I've been enjoying my new electric furnace for a few weeks now - thanks to City Home Comfort! Shawn was fantastic walking me through my options and what was expected (cost, delivery timing, requirements) and I felt I was in good hands. I wasn't being sold something I didn't want or need. He made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted and at a fair price. The furnace arrived earlier than expected and Julian did an amazing job on the install! He had such a tight space to work with and a very old furnace to remove. He made sure it was working properly and consistently before he left - and there was zero mess! Everything was cleaned up. There was definitely pride in his work. I couldn't be happier with City Home Confort and I would highly recommend to anyone!

As always, Shawn is very helpful. He guided me to choose a correct size Furnace humidifier for my home. Julian has installed the unit. Julian is very through and knowledgeable. He took his time throughout the process. I am again very happy with the overall experience. This is a good company to work with.

Shawn is highly recommended he did a great job on the maintenance of our heating system. But I am still waiting for a response on how our thermostat resolve because battery were all new and he tried himself to replace with a new battery but still on the screen shows battery low and he said will discuss at their office but up to now I didn’t hear from him yet.

I have a very pleasant experience with City Home Comfort. The booking was easy, Julian showed up on time and did a wonderful job on my tankless water heater . Everything is running smoothly now. I would highly recommend this company to my friends.

My old furnace broke down in the cold of winter, I called a large reputable company and they sent a sales person to my house for a quote. I was presented with only a few high priced options without even seeing what the furnace looked like. I felt pressured to pick an option and I still wanted to shop around. I called City Home Comfort a smaller family run business and spoke to Shawn. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. He sent me an extensive list of the products they sell at all price points. I ended up getting a quality furnace installed at half the price of the bigger company. I had many questions as this was my first furnace purchase and everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional. I would highly recommend City Home Comfort for any AC or Heating services and a special thanks to Shawn who was able to answer all my questions and concerns.

Excellent service. Shawn was great to deal with. Took time to explain the furnace problem and viable options. Once I decided, initially was booked for a later appointment, but Shawn was able to move things around and get the job done quicker as we had no heat in the house with little ones. Technician was great, arrived on time, friendly and was able to troubleshoot a few installation issues. Result was great. Would highly recommend.
