Cellar Dweller
About
Tulsa's only still-standing speakeasy!! Very chill, dimly lit, basement bar. This baby was established in 1968 as the Cellar Dweller, but has been a working bar since the '20's! There is no other bar in Tulsa like this... it is definitely one-of-a-kind!! Come by and see us!!

I stopped into Cellar Dweller recently, and I left feeling really unsafe. During my visit, I witnessed what looked like suspicious exchanges between some customers that made me extremely uncomfortable. I don’t know what was actually happening, but the vibe felt unsafe enough that I decided to leave almost immediately. On top of that, the atmosphere from the staff—especially some of the bartenders—came across as intimidating rather than welcoming. Instead of feeling helped or reassured, I felt brushed off and even a bit threatened when I tried to express concern. The bartenders most likely moving illicit weight out of the establishment. They don’t want anyone who doesn’t participate in criminal activities. I don’t feel this environment is being managed in a way that keeps customers safe. I hope the owners take a serious look at what’s going on, because as it is now, I can’t recommend visiting. I actually plan to file a crime stoppers tip with local law enforcement

I scored food low bcz Cellar does not serve food. What it does offer is a unique drinking ambiance or vibe. The Cellar may have been a quasi easy speak back in its hey day. Actually, it still provides a quaint cool vibe that old and young alike would like, especially of one is in chill mood. I would recommend it as a first date location over a coffee shop. The staff and attendees were nice and welcoming. I showed up with an elderly lady and my drinking buddy. I'll be returning soon. Always tip the staff well!
