Cellar Dweller
About
Tulsa's only still-standing speakeasy!! Very chill, dimly lit, basement bar. This baby was established in 1968 as the Cellar Dweller, but has been a working bar since the '20's! There is no other bar in Tulsa like this... it is definitely one-of-a-kind!! Come by and see us!!

I stopped into Cellar Dweller recently, and I left feeling really unsafe. During my visit, I witnessed what looked like suspicious exchanges between some customers that made me extremely uncomfortable. I don’t know what was actually happening, but the vibe felt unsafe enough that I decided to leave almost immediately. On top of that, the atmosphere from the staff—especially some of the bartenders—came across as intimidating rather than welcoming. Instead of feeling helped or reassured, I felt brushed off and even a bit threatened when I tried to express concern. The bartenders most likely moving illicit weight out of the establishment. They don’t want anyone who doesn’t participate in criminal activities. I don’t feel this environment is being managed in a way that keeps customers safe. I hope the owners take a serious look at what’s going on, because as it is now, I can’t recommend visiting. I actually plan to file a crime stoppers tip with local law enforcement

Tanner, I think it was, made one of the best Vieux Carre’s I’ve ever had. Not sure about his experience, but he seemed to really know what he’s doing. Not many bars can make a proper Vieux Carree. Thanks, Tanner!
