We tried a handful of classics here, and everything landed really well for our very un-expert (but enthusiastic) palates. The flavours felt honest, balanced, and freshly prepared, without trying too hard. Service was brisk and friendly, and prices were reasonable for the quality and portions.
Shish Tawook
The chicken came in generous chunks â nicely charred on the outside, juicy inside. You can taste the marinade: a clear hit of lemon, garlic and yoghurt doing their job without overpowering the meat. The grilling gave it that slightly smoky edge that makes Shish Tawook so satisfying. Itâs simple, but when done right like this, itâs one of the most comforting bites you can have.
Hummus
The hummus was smooth without being overly whipped, still carrying a bit of texture from the chickpeas. You get that nutty warmth, balanced with tahini and a mild garlic finish. The drizzle of olive oil on top wasnât just decoration â you could taste the freshness. Great to scoop with warm bread and perfect as the âstart of the meal anchor.â
Tabbouleh
Bright and refreshing. Plenty of fresh parsley, not drowned by the bulgur, and the lemon was punchy in a good way. The tomatoes were diced small, which helped keep everything balanced instead of soggy. Itâs the kind of tabbouleh that wakes up your palate â a clean, zesty counterpoint to the grilled items.
Moutabbal
A standout. Smoky, creamy, and with that slightly earthy sweetness you only get when the eggplant is properly fire-roasted. The tahini and garlic are present but not heavy-handed. It pairs beautifully with the Turkish bread and has this deep, comforting flavour that makes you keep going back for another scoop.
Overall, itâs one of those places where the food doesnât need theatrics â the flavours speak for themselves. If you want solid, well-prepared Turkish and Mediterranean dishes in Singapore without the fuss, this spot does it right.
