While there is no debating that prices are reasonable, and the job was done to workmanship standards. What blew my mind was when dropping off my super simple “tailor” job, which would’ve been completed in five minutes not even leaving the store at any other tailor, was quoted at THREE AND A HALF WEEKS. At first, I thought that maybe she was having a rough day and felt overwhelmed so I didn’t make mention of it.
However, two weeks later I went to pick up the item and was told that it had not been started yet. Literally, it was a matter of just sewing some undone threading in a spot no larger than a granny smith apple. No alterations or complicated requests. Thinking back, the longest I’ve waited for apparel alterations would have been 3-4 business days way back when Richmond Centre only had that one tailor (20+ years ago). For me, it’s an additional piece to my work uniform and I have extras so I wasn’t stressing. That said, I know that’s not the case for most individuals.
Total turnaround time, from initial drop off to pick-up, should be NO LONGER THAN 4 business days absolute MAX. If you cannot accommodate that, you are in the wrong business and unfortunately should prepare to get lost in the dust.
