I had my favorite sweater tangled in a bike chain, and honestly, I did not expect it could ever be saved. I decided to take it to Busy Bee Gold, and the result was pure magic. It came back looking brand new. The greasy stains were removed so carefully that the fabric was not damaged at all. I am truly grateful they brought my sweater back to life. From now on, Busy Bee Gold is the only place I will trust with my clothes. Highly recommended!

I had taken an old fedora hat worn by my father-in-law so that it could be cleaned for use by my 11 year old grandson. The gentleman who helped me was very knowledgeable about fedoras and had some wonderful suggestions. It turned out beautifully and will be used lovingly. I just wished I lived closer to use Busy Bee on a regular basis.

Can recommend for shirt cleaning and pressing only. They found a small hole in the pants I wanted to dryclean/press to remove some stains. I agreed to alter/repair for an additional fee. Dropped off pants and shirt on a Tuesday and they said would be ready Friday before the long weekend. I asked if I could pick up Saturday and they said no problem. They did not issue a new ticket for the alteration. I waited until Tuesday after the long weekend to stop by in the late afternoon and only the shirt was ready. Came back the next afternoon after calling to verify things were ready. Very inconvenient as location is far from my home and did not have time to check their work during pickup. Charged over $41 for the pants alteration+dry-cleaning with stains still visible and the hole repair is atrocious. Messy and large threadbare stitching on the exterior with contrasting thread/material and some kind of iron-on patch or material internally so the enlarged fixed spot stands out greatly and the outline of the circular patch can be easily seen. The fixed footprint is maybe 3-5x larger than the original tiny hole now. Maybe heat or something from the cleaning blemished the work, but they did both in-house. Would have been much better to leave the tiny hole and not alter. Overall dissatisfied with the experience due to delays, quality of work, and low value for price. Pleasant front staff that answer phone promptly, I recommend calling ahead before picking up to see if things are ready.

I brought some Naked & Famous denim to them asking for a number of repairs on them. They gave me a date they would be ready 2 or 3 weeks down the line. I had just washed them but they claimed they had a bad odour which I thought seemed weird. I had the thought of going in there to actually look because I thought it seemed odd but decided to just pay them for the dry cleaning they suggested because I wanted the job done. When I went to pick them up they had done none of the repairs I had asked for and said they fixed the crotch, which had already been repaired in the past and didn’t need it. Then they told me they’d call me when the actual repairs I wanted were done. When I did finally pick them up they had sewed some of the repairs like I wanted, but other repairs were simply glued on. If I wanted it glued I could have done it at home. After years of decent service I will not be going back here ever again for the sheer lack of competence.

While there is no debating that prices are reasonable, and the job was done to workmanship standards. What blew my mind was when dropping off my super simple “tailor” job, which would’ve been completed in five minutes not even leaving the store at any other tailor, was quoted at THREE AND A HALF WEEKS. At first, I thought that maybe she was having a rough day and felt overwhelmed so I didn’t make mention of it. However, two weeks later I went to pick up the item and was told that it had not been started yet. Literally, it was a matter of just sewing some undone threading in a spot no larger than a granny smith apple. No alterations or complicated requests. Thinking back, the longest I’ve waited for apparel alterations would have been 3-4 business days way back when Richmond Centre only had that one tailor (20+ years ago). For me, it’s an additional piece to my work uniform and I have extras so I wasn’t stressing. That said, I know that’s not the case for most individuals. Total turnaround time, from initial drop off to pick-up, should be NO LONGER THAN 4 business days absolute MAX. If you cannot accommodate that, you are in the wrong business and unfortunately should prepare to get lost in the dust.

I dropped my couture Galia Lahav wedding gown off in September 2024. I was told it would be ready for pick up early December. After numerous miscommunications I received my dress this month, April 2025. The dress was well taken care of and looks absolutely fabulous; it was cleaned and preserved with care. Despite the miscommunications and time length of getting my gown back busy bee gold employees set the standard for the cleaning and preserving of delicate fabrics including those items precious to you. I was able to talk to the owner in regards to my experience who took full accountability for the lengthy process and was very polite, respectful and personable to talk to. Going forward, customers will experience a streamlined operation as wedding dresses will be taken care of by designated employees. I am so happy I brought my gown here and delighted by the one on one service resulting in a transaction that was not only fair but done with care and empathy.

Usually they are fantastic and we have never had an issue with the service, cleaning, mending or price. Today there was one additional item that was not ours. I called to let them know that we had one additional item and was asked several times what the item was. I replied each time that it looked like a large sheet or duvet cover. Eventually, my husband guessed that it might be a table cloth. Maybe it is, although it feels like a sheet. We were also asked what else we brought home so we itemized what we could, with the problem being that we had started putting items away. And then there was the emphasis being on did we bring home pants…jeans. The answer was yes to pants that were ours and no jeans. We were also asked to check all the green tickets for our name. We only had green tags with our name on it. No matter how many times we were asked. Finally, I found a little white tag with a name and number on it stapled to the side of the “lost” item. That seemed to help, but again, no matter how many times I was asked when we could bring it back, it couldn’t be today.

They have awful customer service. They talked down to me as my personal fitted dress from holt Renfrew wasn’t high end. Said my clothes smelled so couldn’t do alterations and wrecked the zipper on another outfit. Stay away if at all possible.

On June 23, I brought a blouse to Busy Bee, located at 704 W 6th Ave, Vancouver, for alterations. It was a size M (I usually wear S). I’ve trusted Busy Bee for dry cleaning in the past—it's pricey but reliable—so I thought I’d try their tailoring service. A Mandarin-speaking tailor helped me pin the blouse carefully, although I can communicate in English without problems. Speaking my native language with her made me feel welcomed and reassured. I was told it would be ready by July 7 at 5 PM. However, when I arrived slightly early yesterday, the staff found my blouse still in the exact same condition—pins untouched. It hadn’t been altered at all. Then I was told it could be done in an hour, but that disappointed me. Why was nothing done in two weeks if it only takes an hour? I declined the service and left. I’m sharing this review in hopes that Busy Bee will improve its workflow and respect every customer, no matter how small the request. Thank you.

I had my wedding dress preserved here - really excellent job and everyone was so kind and thoughtful! The embroidery on the box is so beautiful too.
