Desert camping with flush toilets and showers. Very much off the beaten path. I was in campsite 5 which was right next to the bathrooms, so I'd recommend a different spot just so you don't have to hear everyone walking to and from the bathrooms.

We recently stayed at The Bus Stop Campground in Terlingua, and it was an incredible experience! The campground offers stunning desert views that are simply breathtaking. The amenities are impressive for a desert location, including wash tubs, WiFi, and full hookups, making it very accommodating. The heavy stakes and metal hammer provided made setting up my tent a breeze, even in the windy conditions. At night, the views were magnificent—star-gazing here is a must! The peaceful atmosphere adds to the charm, making it a perfect getaway. I highly recommend The Bus Stop Campground for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of the desert while having essential comforts. I’ll definitely be back! Rating: 5/5

A fine hidden gem near Big Bend NP. Whatever you expect from a serene and isolated campground, you will find here, and much more than that. You will have an electric hook-up, running water, fire-ring, shower, and toilet; in all clean and well maintained condition. Every night, I couldn’t easily go to bed because the night sky was so beautiful. David, the owner of this campground is very friendly and informative; good communication skill, a great amount of knowledge and history of the area. The only con was the tent ground which was to hard to hammer pegs into. But this campground provided strong sets of iron pegs, and thus it wasn’t a big issue. I love this place, and I will surely come back soon.

An excellent campground at very reasonable rates for the features offered. Every campsite had power, picnic tables, bbq grill, campfire rings, potable water and the campsites are spaced apart enough to allow reach family their privacy. Bathrooms and showers on site. An excellent view of the desert night skies if you're into stargazing. Absolutely loved the stay and will definitely be back again.

Fairly remote campground but we had a nice time. Campsite was clean and had everything we needed: water, electric, picnic table, charcoal grill and fire ring(with wooden seats). NO SHADE though. Self check in, no one on property but phone number listed if needed. Bathhouse has 4 toilet stalls on the front, 3 shower stalls in the back, outdoor shower on one end and sink on the other. Would recommend!

We had a great overnight at the Bus Stop Campground in Terlingua. Tucked away down a dirt road, it is a really nice spot and very well maintained. Everything was perfect and the host David came out to greet us as soon as we arrived. It was great that it had electricity and water. Nice bathrooms too. Loved our stay! Can't wait to come back again! Thanks so much!

✨🌌 We had an incredible experience at The Bus Stop Campground! As a photographer who travels extensively to capture photos for Airbnb owners and properties, I stay in locations of all kinds and conditions. Despite my professional engagements, I always ensure my reviews are unbiased, and I can confidently say this place is truly special! Staying in such a unique Airbnb—a former military bus transformed into a comfortable glamping retreat—was unforgettable. The amenities were top-notch, including an indoor bathroom, AC, fridge, Wi-Fi, indoor and outdoor showers, and a propane grill. The location between Terlingua and Lajitas was super convenient. Specializing in night photography and teaching it across the US, I can say that Big Bend is one of the best places to shoot night photos. The breathtaking dark sky area here is perfect for capturing the Milky Way overhead, making The Bus Stop a fantastic choice for night photography enthusiasts. I have previously stayed here in an RV, and the Bus Stop campground itself was fantastic. It offers RV hookups, Wi-Fi, and a clean outdoor bathhouse. And the highlight? Watching the pterodactyl flap its wings on the ridgeline every hour—so unique and fun! Highly recommend The Bus Stop Campground for anyone looking for a blend of adventure and comfort.

Coolest campground ever! Water, electricity, fire pit and picnic table at each site. Clean restrooms, and the double showers were enjoyed by my wife and I after a day of hiking at Big Bend. It was a pleasure meeting Dave! Great host! We hope to be back again! I almost forgot...the star gazing here is amazing!

This campground is great! David was wonderful about communicating everything to us. The campground itself is in a beautiful location and perfect for great views. Each site has a wash tub which is very helpful. The bathrooms were very clean, felt very safe and were in good condition. The showers were awesome! Highly recommend this campground.
