Local garden groups recommended this place for bulk soil. They are cheap and fairly quick and easy to work with. However, the garden soil mix itself is horrible. It’s basically mud, doesn’t drain properly, just turns into mud. I now have to spend extra time and money amending it to make it suitable as garden soil. I’m sure this place will be good for rock, just not garden soil.

I do not recommend this company for the following reasons: 1. They advertise products that do not match what they deliver. 2. If any issues arise with your order, customer support is dismissive and unhelpful. I ordered Texas Blend and River Rock from this company due to its proximity. The advertised images and descriptions showcased tan and brown tones, but what I received was a completely different color—more of a grayish-white. The delivery driver initially claimed the rocks were just dusty, but it quickly became clear that this was their natural color. When I contacted the company, they offered a refund if I returned the rocks. Since I had paid for delivery, I asked them to arrange pickup. They refused, stating that the owner needed to review the issue but was on vacation. After two weeks of follow-ups, the owner finally responded but was reluctant to acknowledge any mistake. Instead, he suggested I broom-wash the rocks to bring out their colors. After testing this method with no success, I requested either a fair resolution or for them to take the rock back. Their final response was that "color may vary" and that I could return the rock myself for a refund—but only if I self-loaded. They refused to take any further action. While this company maintains a positive public image, particularly in Helotes where I reside, my experience suggests otherwise. Since I dealt directly with the owner, this was not just an employee mistake. If you are considering doing business with "The New Burnin Bush" or "The Burnin Bush," I strongly recommend researching them further. Interestingly, two similarly named companies operate from the same address—one with a philanthropic reputation and another engaging in misleading advertising. I regret not reading more reviews beforehand and hope this helps others make an informed decision.

Just had 3 1/2 yards of Texas rainbow rock delivered by Eric. He did a great job. He actually sold it to us on Saturday by being so informative. He patiently answered all our questions and we bought it. Great job Eric!!

Walked into the tiny one-room office with one staff member and an older customer, followed by two more people after me. Ended up walking out after 10mins. I don't mind waiting, but this place needs better management. Either get another person, or at least have staff acknowledge/attempt to get quick business out the door instead of standing shoulder to shoulder without a word said to them. One old customer should't have that kind of power. EDIT: the response from the business to my review should further show that it’s managed by an amateur. Check out the Morris Company if you prefer to do business with adults.

DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM BURNIN BUSH or the NEW BURNIN BUSH. I ordered 12 yards of 2-4 Texas blend. They only delivered rock that was well over 4" inches so it did not give the coverage. I have pictures on Burnin Bush Facebook and Yelp *****Update It has gotten worse :You delivered me the wrong rock size which made it appear that the yards delivered were incorrect. I ordered 2-4 inch Texas Blend – you can see my receipt. I received rock well over 4 inches and it contained asphalt rock in the mixture. See pictures. I have enclosed pictures of the rock so you can see the oversized the rock. Your loader, at your yard, could have easily seen the rock was oversized and your driver should have seen this too as I assume you hire capable employees. I knew something was wrong with the rock and had my HOA inspector look at it and he said the rock is too large and well over 4 inches in size. I had to buy rock at Buckhorn last minute and it was the correct 2-4 inch rock and 10 yard of rock covered more area then the poor quality “New” Burnin Bush rock as it was so large it did not cover like the 2-4 inch rock. I stopped payment on my check when they would not return my calls and messages I left from 10 AM to 4 PM. I am not paying for rock that I did not order. The owner sent a message at 11:22 am on Friday, April 25th saying he would be out to my property with a skidsteer between 2-3pm to pick up the rock. I had to call the police to protect myself and my property. A skid steer can no longer be used to get the oversized wrong rock. The police officer, Mr Hernandez – Badge Number 5412, said that the rock was not 2-4 inches and he asked to see my receipt. He said I would have to handle this in civil court and I will be using Mr Hernandez’ statement in my lawsuit against Burnin Bush and the “New” Burnin Bush. I sent the below message to the owner/office person – Sophia. Basically saying they can pick up their rock but they have to do it by hand and with wheelbarrows. I gave them a timeline and gave them enough advance notice that they can get their rock. Unlike the unprofessional message of less than 3 hour notice and threathing to bring heavy equipment – skidsteer that would damage my property and my neighbors property. You can pick up your oversized rock that I did not order for next Friday May 2nd from 11am to 1 pm. No skidsteers or shovels will be used on my property or driveway. Your crew will have two hours to hand pick all the burnin bush oversize rock out of the flower beds to only use wheelbarrows on the edge of the property and not touch the edging that has already been professionally installed. Each of your crew will sign a personal liability waiver before any work is started and any damage done to my property, grass, edging, landscaping fabric or other items will be reimbursed to me within 24 hours of damage or I will sue you. This is very professional compared to your less than 24 hour notice and your demand to use a skidsteer on my property after my edging and landscaping fabric had been installed so no longer can heavy equipment be used on my property. You have until Monday, April 28th by 4 pm to confirm your agreement with the time, date, waiver form and the exact way the oversized and wrong rock will be removed. If I don't get a response by Monday April 28th. Google ran out of space - full review is on Yelp and Facebook - New Burnin Bush He is refusing to pick up the material other than using a skid steer which would tear up my edging, landscape fabric and my neighbors grass.

For a business of been around for Over 15 years I can definitely use better customer service and more greetings to their customers to come into the door. Definitely room for improvement. would not recommend this place for customer service don’t expect much walking through the door

Been coming to Burning for years. Cedar double grind great for yard walks. Atlas better than garden soil. Stays loose and drains well. Molasses compost nice.

I've used them multiple times. Good manure compost at a good price. Also purchased Washed sand for the base of above ground pool. $26 for a yard which is way cheaper than the $120 buying 20 bags at Home Depot. Good customer service. Friendly people. I will continue to use them for future projects.

Great quality products, great service. Dan, Travis, and the whole team treated me with that classic southern hospitality, happy to continue to support this business for my outdoor needs through and through.
