I have used Builders Commonwealth for many projects over many years. They are always a joy to work with. The crew is pleasant to have around and they take real pride in doing their work well. They are great problem solvers. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Builders Commonwealth is truly a premium builder. They took on our project when no one else would—after our original contractor dissolved their business and left us with only a slab and materials for a non-standard construction method involving extended polystyrene foam walls and steel studs. This system required specialized training in Las Vegas, which Builders Commonwealth completed without hesitation. From the start, they approached every challenge with expertise and creativity. The slab was undersized and required re-engineering; they solved this by designing an innovative interior plate system to properly attach the walls. They strengthened structural components to meet Minnesota code, identified several issues we were unaware of—including improper drainage causing water pooling—and oversaw the necessary re-excavation and repairs. Builders Commonwealth collaborated closely with licensed State of Minnesota structural engineers to ensure the structure not only met but exceeded all code requirements. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail, especially in the custom interior finishes, were truly exceptional. While the additional work was time-consuming and costly, it dramatically improved the quality, durability, and beauty of our home. The final appraisal came in significantly higher than expected, reflecting the value of their expertise and the superior outcome they delivered. We are grateful for their integrity, professionalism, and skill—and would highly recommend Builders Commonwealth to anyone seeking top-tier workmanship.

Builders Commonwealth provided us with reliably exceptional craftsmanship. Quality work. Responsive and attentive to details. Dan and his crew were always a friendly presence during the project. Very pleasant to work with.

The work they did on bathroom did not last two years. The took several months to complete one bathroom with multiple problems. The bathroom cannot be used due to bad plumbing. Did bad work on plumbing and cost thousands to fix, the work they claimed to have done. I have to call plumbers at least 3 times a year. Should get half star if not zero.

Far behind promised time frame, wildly over-budget. Never, ever, again.

We needed new custom built-in cabinets to increase our storage space. The entire process was excellent from start to finish. The team provided a quote quickly and was willing to work with me to get it within our budget. We had architect-created designs made by them, so we knew exactly what we were getting before we started (helpful for us and for them!). We were on a bit of a tight timeline, and they really pushed hard to deliver in that timeline, despite it being admittedly a bit unrealistic. When the cabinets were built, they were quick to schedule a time to come up and begin the install. Once here, it was a multi-day process, and they kept us apprised of when they'd arrive each day. While here, their team was both very clean and meticulous in their finishing quality. They had very high standards and a clear pride in the work they were doing. They were awesome to work with, and I really enjoyed the process. I would absolutely use them again.
