It's 2026! We started the new year on a positive note and had the honor of completing our annual Paint It Forward project this month for Bettye — a longtime Northeast Portland homeowner who has lived in her home for over 60 years.
Bettye raised her family here, taught high school at Roosevelt for three decades, and continues to give back to her community every day — from teaching Sunday school to helping other seniors get to appointments and the grocery store.
Through our partnership with @takingownershippdx and @benjaminmoorepro, we repainted several interior spaces in her home at no cost, with the goal of helping her continue to live comfortably in a place filled with decades of memories.
Paint It Forward isn’t about dramatic makeovers. It’s about showing up, doing the work, and using our skills to support the people and neighborhoods that make Portland what it is.
