Lip Blush Healing Process – What to Expect
Right after the procedure, the lips may feel slightly swollen for 1–2 days. This is a natural reaction of the skin to the needlework and will gradually subside.
During the first week, the lips go through these stages:
• Days 1–2: slightly puffy, color looks brighter and darker than the final shade.
• Days 3–5: the lips start to dry and peel.
• Days 6–10: most peeling comes off, the color looks lighter.
• Weeks 3–4: the true color gradually settles, appearing soft and even.
After peeling, the lip color usually fades about 40–50% compared to how it looked right after the procedure. This is normal because the lips have frequent contact with water, food, and wiping. A touch-up is usually scheduled after 6–8 weeks to achieve an even and vibrant tone.
With proper aftercare—keeping the lips moisturized, avoiding harsh sun, and skipping early exfoliation—the color can last about 2–3 years before a refresh is needed.
