While Romulus, Michigan held its first township meeting in 1835, it didn’t become incorporated as a city until 1970, well after Michigan entered the union in 1837. Crime overall is fairly low, but this town of approximately 24,000 citizens still gets its fair share of DUI cases in Wayne County.
