We rented a pontoon for the day, went to Wild horse Island and around the lake. Flathead Lake holds a special place in my Father's heart, and Matt (among many many other people) made this return trip (first time for the rest of the crew) very memorable.

Great way to start our trip. We could have taken more advantage of the hiking trails but 48 hours of flight delays took a lot out of us -- ended up going straight from the airport to the dock (with minutes to spare). Big Arm is about an hour from the airport, but Flathead Lake is beautiful -- even from the road -- and I found this to be a great way to visit Wild Horse Island. Proximity maximizes the island v. water time. I know a bench sit on at the pickup point wouldn't have kept with the nature vibe, but we made it work with a fallen log. Again, wiped out by flight shenanigans.

We recently rented a large boat from this outfitter for a family outing. While the young ladies on staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the owner Judy approached us at the end of our trip to talk about an issue which she needed to discuss with us. She was incredibly rude, acting irate and taking pictures of our entire party, including the kids. She made outrageous claims that the vessel was damaged and could no longer be rented out, with no inspection or assessment. Judy ended what would have been a fantastic nature experience on a nasty note. What she didn’t know is that we are a boating family and actually own a marine product business. In short, we left after being verbally assaulted with 2 terrified kids. This review is a warning to others to seek other outfitters, as there are plenty in the area. The girls were polite and friendly, but the owner has zero tact and a complete absence of problem-solving skills. It’s not about the money, but her horrific approach to customer service. ***UPDATE 06/26 we paid their requested $62 total via Apple Pay for fuel on the same day, but they kept attempting to charge the credit card on file with fraudulent charges. It’s been almost 2 weeks and the owner continues the financial harassment with attempted charges. BEWARE! Their attempt at fraud may show up well after you’ve settled your fuel bill.

Matt and his team are awesome. We rented on 7/3/25 and had an amazing time. Went to Wild Horse Island first and was pleasantly surprised that the Bighorn sheep came down to the water. We just had a blast driving around the lake. Boats were clean and instructions clear. Based on our experience I don't understand any of the negative reviews I've seen. Rent with confidence and have fun! Cheers, Casey

Big Arm Boat Ride to Wild Horse Island in Flathead Lake. For 1/2 day excursion to the island. Hiking trails around island in search of horses, sheep, deer, and eagles. My only suggestion is to steer the guests to the areas where we could find the horses (the east end). But we did find deer. Gorgeous island.

Matt and crew were very accommodating and helpful. Nice folks. We rented a boat and a jet ski. Matt also performed an in the water wedding. CAN highly recommend them to every one! Prices are better than Polson or lakeside.

On 08/12/2025 We rented a tandem kayak for five hours and Matt (owner) let us know that if we want to extend just give him a call before the five hour was up and it would just be another added $20, which I found that to be helpful and we definitely extended out time on the water and hike at Wild Horses Island. When we launched off Jill was who helped us out very sweet and on our return. Brandon was very awesome. Thank you to the staff.

What a great experience!! They were able to accommodate our group after last minute plans allowed us an afternoon on flathead. The whole process was easy and the boat was in great shape. Easy to work with and really chill place. Thanks guys!

No visit to Flathead Lake is complete without a trip out to Wild Horse Island State Park. I rented a kayak from this wonderful family-owned business. Kenton checked me in, went over the guidelines/weather/typical paddling time, showed me on his map where my port (Driftwood) is located, and recommended best hiking areas. Very personable and thorough. The kayak was ready when I arrived @ 10 - was in the water by 10:30. Greatly enjoyed my voyage to WH (about 1.5 hours) and hiking around the island - saw all 5 horses plus plenty of deer and sheep. I 100% recommend using this rental company to explore WH!
