Extremely Disappointed – Project Incomplete and Final Price Increased Without Agreement
We hired this company to build a custom indoor mini golf course, and the experience turned out to be incredibly frustrating and disappointing. From the start, we went over every detail of what we wanted: turf covering the floor, hole modules fully incorporated into the turf (with no exposed wood, so they didn’t look like portable pieces), a glow-in-the-dark theme with glowing landscaping elements, and glow in the dark compatible lighting throughout the room. We were quoted a price just under $7,000, and the only additional cost mentioned upfront was a $250 upgrade for a specific turf type—which we agreed to.
When the job was “finished,” we were blindsided with a $2,000 increase—with no prior discussion, approval, or warning. On top of the surprise price increase, the ‘final’ product fell drastically short of what was promised. Eli, the owner, told us that if we didn’t pay the extra amount, he would not fix or complete any of the issues we had already agreed on from the beginning. He even threatened to bring us to collections if we didn’t pay the new surprise balance. He claimed the job was complete as-is, even though it was clearly not what we were promised.
To be clear, the course was far from finished:
- Only half of the modules had a stone border, and even those were unstable and falling over.
- The modules were not integrated into the turf—wood borders were clearly exposed and made everything look temporary and unfinished.
- The turf on the modules was poorly installed, uneven, and caused balls to bounce or roll unpredictably.
- There were zero glow-in-the-dark elements and none of the immersive touches we were promised.
- Landscaping was practically nonexistent: just two fake trees surrounded by rocks and a small area around a fountain—nowhere near the detailed, lush environment we discussed.
Eli was very convincing during our initial conversations and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the vision we described. Unfortunately, that enthusiasm didn’t translate into the final product. What we got was a rushed, unfinished job and a demand for more money before he would even consider completing what we already paid for.
I would strongly caution anyone considering working with this company. The lack of transparency, incomplete work, and refusal to stand by initial agreements left us feeling misled and taken advantage of. Would not recommend this company if you’re expecting transparency, quality workmanship, or someone who follows through on their promises.
