Blue Ridge Canine Academy

We’ve trained with Cameron from Blue Ridge Canine Academy multiple times for protection work, and he is truly outstanding. He is an amazing decoy—extremely safe, professional, and very skilled at reading the dog in real time. He is also very nice, highly energetic, and brings a great attitude to every session. Cameron has an excellent eye for detail and is fantastic at troubleshooting issues and adjusting training to bring out the best in both dog and handler. We always leave sessions feeling confident and productive. Highly recommend him to anyone serious about protection training.

I started with Cameron to begin training with my GSD pup. It was a great experience. He helped me with all of the issues that I was having with puppy training and also loading and beginning Healing and leash training. Cameron and his staff are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. They are very professional And a pleasure to work with. I also Boarded my pup for training for an additional two weeks. The results were wonderful. I will be going back to schedule for further Training soon! This was much better than any training experience than I had with other trainers with my previous GSD‘s.

To say we are impressed with what Cameron and Courtney have done with our English Lab Hudson is an understatement! We started Hudson with private lessons when he was 4months old . Cameron was very knowledgeable and patient …especially with us . He helped us navigate the rough stages of puppyhood. At 7months we decided to do their Board and Train program. After 4 weeks we were blown away with the progress. Courtney was incredible with Hudson and again very patient with us. We meet for several lessons during the board and train. This was very helpful to us . It's truly amazing to see your dog transformed. Words really can’t express how pleased we are. Many thanks Cameron and Courtney for your passion, patience and hard work. We would highly recommend Blue Ridge Canine Academy to anyone !

My wife and I are moving to another country soon, and we needed our four-year-old Doberman to be a bit more disciplined. He hasn’t always been great with other animals and often struggled to follow our commands. After a six-week board-and-train program with Blue Ridge Canine Academy, he’s truly transformed. We’ve never been able to take him out to eat with us, inside of Lowe’s/Home depot, and now, being able to do so for the first time—and watching him lie down calmly, completely unbothered by anything around him—is incredible. Cameron and Courtney are fantastic; they’re accommodating, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. We absolutely love everything they’ve done for our dog. Highly, highly recommend Blue Ridge Canine Academy!

We cannot say enough great things about Blue Ridge Canine Academy. Our Puppy Cooper (who was 10 months old) recently completed their 4 week board-and-train program while we traveled abroad. From the moment we dropped him off, we knew he was in the hands of people who truly care about the dogs they work with. Cameron & Courtney took the time to understand Cooper’s personality, strengths, and challenges. Throughout the program, they kept us updated with photos and progress reports—something that gave us peace of mind. When we picked Cooper up, we were blown away by how confident, well-mannered, and responsive he had become. His obedience, off & on leash skills, and focus have improved dramatically, and the team made sure we were fully prepared to continue reinforcing his training at home. Blue Ridge Canine Academy exceeded every expectation. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional & compassionate training for their dog.

Blue Ridge Canine Academy has been incredible for our dogs (and for my husband and me)! We sent our pup Cooper for a month-long board and train, and the progress he made was amazing!We’re now taking our other dog, Eva, for private lessons and also learning how to work with both dogs together. We’ve worked with both Cameron and Courtney, and they are knowledgeable, fun, and truly great to work with. We’re so confident in their care and training that we’re already planning to send both dogs back for a two-week board and train while we travel next year. Highly recommend!

We love bringing our dog to train with Cameron. He knows exactly what our dog needs to be his best. We have already learned so much from working with him, and truly enjoy each session. We will continue to go see Cameron for training with our malinois. They are also the only people we trust to board him when we want to go out of town.

Cameron is always at the ready to offer positive reinforcement and great solutions to issues Like boarding, training, etc. concerning my two German shepherds. He suggests corrective behavior and makes it relatable to human behavior. He is definitely a student of Dr. Dolittle lol he is a very kind, caring professional trainer. I definitely trust him with my dogs.

My Lab, Charley, just finished his 2-week puppy board and train, and I could not be more pleased with the progress he made in such a short time. Cameron and Courtney are excellent trainers—not only with Charley, but with me as well. They took the time to explain the how and why of the training and answered all of my questions thoughtfully. When I brought Charley home, I felt well prepared to continue working with him. During one of our first training sessions outside, two neighborhood cats were very close by, and Charley barely paid them any attention—he stayed focused on me and the commands. I was amazed at how well he did! Charley will be returning for the 4-week board and train, and I’m excited to see his continued progress. I highly recommend Blue Ridge Canine Academy for any training needs—you will not be disappointed!

Sent my dog all the way across the country to Blue Ridge for PSA bitework and training. They have been well worth the investment! Cameron and Kamila have been so communicative, they ask me what I want without assuming, they don’t get offended if I ask a question; the lack of ego has been such a nice change of pace vs other trainers I’ve worked with, and I am so grateful to be able to be part of the process. I really appreciate that the focus has been on building confidence, attitude, and foundational skills. My dog is doing phenomenal out there. Truly grateful for these guys!
