Black Hills Adventure Tours

I went in a tour with Mark in the private northern hills and the Badlands. We deeply appreciated him showing us South Dakota. He was very knowledgeable about South Dakota’s history and was excited to share it with those that want to learn about it. He was very accommodating and really tailored the tour to what we wanted to do/found most interesting. Also he made sure that when we were hiking we had the proper supplies to ensure no one got hurt. Overall a great person to explore South with. If you get him you are in for a great time!!

This tour was incredible! Our tour guide Jacki was really fun, personable, and knowledgeable. Our tour included stops at Mt. Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, a picnic lunch overlooking a beautiful lake and a drive through a national park to see buffalo, pronghorn, and prairie dogs. I learned so much, had a great time, and saw gorgeous scenery. I can't recommend this tour enough! Jacki is wonderful!!

We had no idea what to expect when we booked 4 days of hiking/touring in the South Dakota Badlands and Black Hills, but when we met Aura at Under Canvas Mount Rushmore we knew we were in good hands. I told Aura more than once that she was a walking encyclopedia when it came to all things South Dakota: Native American history and culture, geology, wildlife, geography, and botany. She had answers for all our queries and she even shared part of her rock/fossil collection with us, explaining where she had found things and what they were. We can highly recommend Black Hills Adventure Tours if you’re looking for a guide who is personable and who can make a tour to suit your needs.Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We had an amazing day with Jacki on our trip to the Black Hills in June. She was very knowledgeable about the area and took us to the perfect hike for all ability levels in our group (kids and adults). She even went out of her way to take us to some of the places on our list we didn’t think we’d get to before we left. We are so grateful to have had Jacki as our guide for the day and appreciated her spot-on recommendation for activities on the last day of our trip (they loved Bear Country, just as she said they would!). We went on a back-to-back tour with Mark. It's easily the best tour I have ever been on. Mark has such a deep level of knowledge with everything. On the first day we did Mount Rushmore but he took us to some other places where you have these incredible views of Mount Rushmore that the average person would not even be aware of. One of the highlights was the restaurants that Mark took us to for lunch. And on day two we spent the majority of the day in the Badlands. Bar. None one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. I highly recommend this company if you're going to South Dakota and I highly recommend Mark as your tour guide.

The private Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer Park tour was wonderful! Aura was an incredible tour guide. She was so knowledgeable and so very pleasant to be with. She made the adventure even more memorable. Great communication regarding the meeting place before the tour began. The lunch meal was at a wonderful restaurant, paid by the tour guide. I highly recommend.

My SIL just spent 3 days with Jamie from Black Hills Adventures. We saw so many beautiful places and interesting things and a lot of buffalo! Jamie was a real pleasure to spend 3 days with. Black Hills Adventures and Carrie were so wonderfully accommodating after flights were delayed and pushed our arrival time until the wee hours. She rescheduled us for a much later pick up which enabled us to see the lighting ceremony at Mount Rushmore which was very moving. Black Hills Adventures seemed to do everything possible to make our visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible! Thank you for wonderful 3 days.

Fabulous experience! 4 days of guided tours ensured we got to see all the highlights of the Black Hills. Our family will never forget the experience. We ended the week with a scenic bike ride. Jamie was our guide and he was great at keeping the kids engaged. We took family hikes, saw historical monuments…learned tons of history and geology of the area in a captivating hands-on experience. The kids loved seeing bison and prairie dogs, finding fossils in the Badlands, and hiking around Sylvan Lake. Beautiful area and by the end of the time, Jamie was like family, the kids say when we go back, we have to have Jamie again!

We spent the better part of three days exploring the Black Hills, including Spearfish Canyon, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer State Park. We also had a lovely morning kayaking and picnicking on Stockade Lake. Jamie was a super tour guide who was passionate about the area and its history, flora & fawna. He was so thoughtful and fun. Highly recommend!!
