I am writing this review to formally document my experience and to warn other consumers.
I booked an appointment that was originally quoted at $250. When I arrived at the salon, the price was changed to $280, which I agreed to. However, after the service was completed, I was unexpectedly charged $480, without clear, upfront agreement to this final amount. The pricing changed multiple times and was only confirmed at the end, after the service had already been carried out. I believe this lacks transparency and informed consent.
I was not provided with a tax invoice or receipt at the time of payment, despite paying in full. This was only raised after I began formally disputing the charge.
The final result did not match the reference photo provided, and the blending and colour issues became apparent once I left the salon and viewed my hair in natural lighting. I contacted the salon immediately to raise my concerns.
Instead of addressing my refund request, I was repeatedly pressured to return to the salon for further services, despite clearly stating that I felt uncomfortable and no longer trusted the business to carry out additional work on my hair. Customers should not be forced to return when confidence has been lost.
There were also communication difficulties, including a noticeable language barrier, which made it challenging to clearly discuss pricing, consent, and expectations throughout the appointment.
I also have concerns regarding payment practices, as I was asked to pay via cash or PayID, and was not provided with transparent documentation at the time of payment.
After reviewing other customer feedback, I noticed similar complaints regarding unexpected price increases at the end of appointments, which is concerning.
I am now pursuing this matter through formal legal and regulatory channels, including Consumer Protection Western Australia. My intention is to ensure accountability and help prevent other customers, including those who have already raised concern, from experiencing similar issues.
I encourage anyone who has had a similar experience to understand their rights under the Australian Consumer Law and seek guidance from Consumer Protection.
