Let's talk about allergens.
With seasons changing, we pay more attention to our allergies standing, not realizing that allergens are lurking in our home in places we expect the least, on our bed sheets, sofas ,carpeting and also on hard surfaces. There are so many way how allergens can get into our house, but with coming spring we just invite them by opening the windows, patio doors etc. True, we all need fresh air after long winter, just remember that the easiest way for allergens ( dust, pollen) to get in the house, are the open windows. Not that we don't have sources of allergies right inside of our houses. Just imagine dead skin cells, scalp flakes, dust mites and very common source is sitting in right in our very basement. Furnace and its ductwork system is big contributor to our breathing problems. Just imagine, without proper filtration , we just recirculate
" bad" air quite often using heat There are ways how to protect ourselves from getting affected by allergens. First in order is frequent vacuuming, it won't remove all of the allergens, but a great deal. Make sure that your vacuum has Hepa filter, which is the most efficient. Use air purifier , place it in each room or purchase one which is installed with a furnace. Remember to change furnace filters 6x a year. This will help eliminate intake of
" bad " air. Change your bed shoften , heat above 140° kills dust mites . Steam clean your carpets and upholstery , we're using 220° and above temps.
