We couldn’t be happier with his work at our condo community. We had a slope that was damaged several years ago when heavy equipment replacing a storm sewer line left us with a clay slope that wouldn’t support any plant growth. Over the last 4 years we probably lost 12 inches of soil in some areas. We brought in 48 yards of screened topsoil. Mr. Beckham did an excellent job of spreading it in layers and using the weight of the bobcat to compress it. Just standing at the edge of the dirt pile before he got here, your foot would sink 4-6 inches. He sloped it perfectly, tapered the corners just right and knew where to leave it low for water drainage from an adjacent area. We also had several damaged areas where top soil was missing and tree roots were showing and sunken areas where stumps had been removed. He took his time spreading it to get every area looking good and ready for our crew to do the next phase. On the slope, we walked it to add fertilizer, staple down underlayment cloth, and begin adding ground cover. The soil didn’t budge, no one’s feet sank into the dirt and when digging to plant the ground cover, the soil was very firm. I’m not worried about our project settling 6 inches after the next few downpours. His work here has enabled us to improve so many areas that needed help. He doesn’t just arrive and get it over with quickly, he concentrates on doing each area well. One of the pictures shows the dirt looking pretty rough. We didn’t have him tweek it as tree removal is happening there in a few weeks. We’ll go back and seed the flat areas in Sept. but our work will be minimal because of his diligence. He’s friendly and easy to work with. Just hire him and move on to the next thing on your project agenda.
