You know how sometimes you just want to grab a few things and get out? Well, my recent trip to Beauty Basket in Sector 26, Chandigarh was not one of those times. And honestly, I'm still fuming about it.
So, a friend of mine, bless her heart, told me about Beauty Basket. She said they sometimes have good deals on perfumes, but warned me big time about the staff – said they were super arrogant. She even said, "Only go if you literally can't make it to Sephora or Scentido in Elante Mall." I was in a rush to catch a flight, so I thought, "How bad could it be, right?" Oh, I was so wrong.
I rolled in around 8:15 PM, knowing they close soon, but I was serious about buying some good perfumes. I'm talking Nishane Hacivat, Mancera Cedrat Boise, Terre d'Hermès Parfum, Azzaro Wanted, and Guerlain L'Homme Ideal kind of serious. From the moment I stepped in, the vibe was just... off.
The staff, especially this lady named Ms. Anju and another person, were just plain rude. Like, why are you even working in a shop if you act like every customer is annoying you? They barely knew how to say the perfume names, let alone anything about what the scents were like. Seriously, they looked at me blankly when I asked about notes. It felt like I knew more than they did, and I'm not even a pro!
And the "discounts"? A measly 10-15%? You can get that almost anywhere, like at Sephora or Shopper Stop, and at least there the people actually help you and know what they're talking about. There was zero professionalism.
But the worst part? About ten minutes in, Ms. Anju, out of nowhere, barks at me, "Arre madam, jaldi karo, itna time nahi hai humare paas!" Can you believe the nerve?! I'm standing there, ready to drop some serious cash – probably over ₹50,000 – and she's telling me to hurry up like I'm wasting her time? How am I supposed to pick out expensive perfumes in less than 15 minutes? It was just so disrespectful and tacky.
Honestly, if you're thinking of buying perfumes, save yourself the headache. Just go to Sephora or Scentido. The staff there are actually helpful, they know their stuff, and they treat you like a human being, not an inconvenience. Beauty Basket is a hard pass for me.
Never again
