I'll always be extremely grateful to them, especially Becky, our lead nurse for my mother. She is truly a compassionate person. I really don't think I could have made it though without her. Also, our first point of contact at Methodist hospital, Tracie Garcia, really put us at ease to proceed with hospice. During the most difficult and sad times of our lives, my son and I were able to depend on the best care possible for our mother. She sadly passed away very quickly after being discharged from the hospital.

On behalf of my whole family, I would like to thank the staff of Bayou City Hospice for the care they provided to our family as we navigated our mother's final days at Houston Methodist Hospital Willowbrook last month. It was a very difficult time for our family, but once Bayou City took over managing our mother's care in the hospital, we were able to focus on what mattered most, being with mom. We were particularly grateful for the way they made sure that our mother was not be moved to another facility, despite the hospital policy of allowing only 72 hours of hospice care onsite. Despite the hospital's interest in turning over the bed, Bayou City put the comfort of our mother and our family first and repeatedly and successfully made the case that moving mom so close to her transition was not in her best interest. It was a battle we didn't have to wage at a time we were vulnerable and we are forever grateful that they stood in the gap on our behalf. I highly recommend Bayou City Hospice.

The first point of contact was Venecia. She made sure that everything was set up before my mom made it home from the hospital. The staff was was awesome, especially Sabrina, LaToya, Kevin and of course Venecia. It is obvious that the staff is passionate about their job and not just there for a paycheck. I highly recommend Bayou City if your family member needs hospice. Thank you to everyone who was instrumental in making my mom comfortable during her last few days on earth.

Exceptional Care and Compassion The Bayou City hospice team that cared for my dear friend Nell was truly extraordinary. Nurse Sabrina was an absolute blessing — her kindness, patience, and compassion went far beyond duty. Even when Nell could no longer speak, you could see the peace and comfort that came over her whenever Sabrina walked into the room. They had such a special bond, and it meant so much to all of us. Anna was also wonderful — gentle, understanding, and incredibly patient. She always respected Nell’s preferences, waiting until Nell was ready before providing care. She never took it personally and treated her with dignity and love every single time. The entire team met Nell exactly where she was, with grace and empathy. They understood her spirit and cared for her as if she were family. Their professionalism and heart made an incredibly difficult time so much easier. I’ll forever be grateful for the compassion and support they provided to Nell — and to all of us who loved her.

Having moved mom from Florida to Texas, I was nervous about her care. Bayou City Hospice met us at the Assisted Living facility the day we arrived. We were blown away with the care mom received. Tiffany, Caryn, and the others were so gentle and understanding with mom and her needs. They did an excellent job of providing care while making sure mom’s dignity was respected. Mom truly felt loved and cared for. I will always think of Tiffany and Caryn with kindness, love and compassion for the care they gave mom in her last days.

We were initially thrilled to have Bayou City Hospice provide care for our father, but our experience has been extremely disappointing due to repeated failures in communication and follow through. Our assigned case manager, Rebecca (Becky), has shown a lack of competence in managing even the most basic aspects of our father’s care. We were promised our very first nurse visit on a Friday, but that appointment was completely missed. After multiple calls, we finally tracked down Becky for an explanation - only to learn that the designated nurse was on vacation and no replacement had been properly arranged. As a case manager, one would expect her to be aware of her nurses’ schedules and ensure continuity of care. Since it was already late in the day, we agreed to wait until the following Monday to meet with the designated nurse, along with the social worker, to minimize disruption and stress for our father. On Monday, however, a completely different nurse arrived (again not the designated one), who was still on vacation. On top of that, we had to chase down and double confirm with the social worker ourselves, even though we had been promised both would arrive together. When we followed up with Becky to understand what was happening and to express the strain this constant rescheduling placed on us (since we were repeatedly having to take time off work) her response was flippant and dismissive by implying that we were difficult and suggested we simply apply for FMLA leave, effectively shifting the blame onto us rather than addressing the underlying issues. To make matters worse, when we called the main line to express our concerns, we were told our file stated we had “declined 24-hour follow-up visitation.” This is absolutely false. We never declined visitation; Bayou City Hospice simply failed to send a nurse on Friday due to their own internal miscommunication and lack of organization. Fast forward to today: we had finally rescheduled for our designated nurse to arrive at 9:00 a.m., only to receive a text confirming they would actually come at 10:30 instead. This constant shifting of schedules is exhausting and cannot keep happening. We haven’t even officially started my father’s care and yet Becky has already demonstrated that she cannot manage the most basic responsibilities. The other members of the organization have been nothing short of pleasant and extremely helpful (when we can actually get ahold of them or meet them in person). That said, we do not recommend that Becky continue in the administrative role. Despite her efforts, she has demonstrated that she is not able to meet the responsibilities required of the position.

Bayou City Hospice, and Camille specifically, were recommended to us by the owner of the assisted living home where my mother was living. Camille was a Godsend as she cared for my mother over her last 9 months of life. She noticed every detail, showed so much compassion, and provided clear information on what to expect. I was very well-informed every step of the way with frequent phone calls and texts. Camille was present when my mother passed away and her kindness and support at that time was priceless.

Bayou City Hospice is an amazing company. Natalie was our nurse, but everyone associated with Bayou was so supportive and helpful during the last year of my mother‘s life. She was so well taken care of and so were we. They communicated every time they saw her and Always explained things in a very kind and straightforward way. They even called to check on us after she passed. We were all sad but prepared Thank you to the amazing group at Bayou City Hospice. We don’t know what we would’ve done without you.

Bayou City Hospice is a trusted partner for Countryside Senior Living of Spring. Tracie is an advocate for our community and our residents and we greatly appreciate her so much. Her dedication to providing our families with the support and information needed as they make the difficult decisions to choose Hospice for their loved one is unprecedented. We must mention Tiffany our Bayou City RN. Tiffany is an ANGEL 👼 on earth. Tiffany loves our residents like her family. She is by them through every step of the hospice journey. Not many would sit with a family during the passing of their loved one when she is off work, but Tiffany is always there. The love ❤️ she has for everyone is infectious. She’s also very efficient in her job. Nothing ever goes without her insuring everything the residents need is done. Tiffany represents the heart ❤️ of what hospice should be. She’s LOVE, kindness, patience, compassion, efficient, and a servant heart. We love her and Bayou City Hospice and thank them all for the love they show every day as they walk our residents they serve to Heavens doors. ❤️
