🔥FAQ Friday 🔥
Can you pour concrete in winter? Absolutely, if you do it the right way. ❄️
Cold weather doesn’t stop construction, but it does change the way concrete must be handled. In December and throughout winter, concrete needs additional care such as accelerators, air-entrainment, and longer curing time. Covering the slab with insulated blankets helps trap heat and ensures proper hydration during those critical first 48 hours.
This is where on-site mixed concrete becomes essential. Instead of receiving a load that’s been cooling in a drum for 30–50 minutes, your mix is produced fresh at the moment of placement. You get a warmer batch, controlled slump, and the flexibility to adjust the MPa and additives right on location which helps prevent weak spots, inconsistent curing, or cold joints.
Winter pours aren’t just possible, they can be extremely strong when handled properly!
