BARUNO (LATIN BAR, FOOD & NIGHTCLUB)

I visited Baruno for the first time today, and I’ll definitely be back! I went with my family, including my 10-year-old child, to enjoy a nice meal and celebrate my birthday. The service was excellent, and the owners were really kind and welcoming. They have a great selection of food and drinks on the menu. They even surprised me with a lovely birthday cake, candle, and song, which made the day extra special. If you’re looking for a great place to relax and enjoy quality time with your family — even with kids — I highly recommend it!

We visited Baruno Latin Bar in Edinburgh with a group of 12 friends, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was filled with incredible Latin energy. We ordered several traditional dishes — sancocho, chicharrones, and beef empanadas — and everything was delicious, with that authentic flavor that takes you straight to Latin America. We enjoyed cold beers and some piña colada shots, which were the perfect touch for the night. The service was excellent, with staff who spoke Spanish, English, and Portuguese, making everyone feel right at home. The music and vibe were amazing — people dancing, enjoying themselves, and sharing great energy. In short, it was a complete experience with great food, outstanding service, and a fun, multicultural atmosphere. 💬 Highly recommended for an amazing night out in Edinburgh!

Actually quite a nice surprise from a food perspective as it was something different (South American cuisine), this is after a slightly underwhelming curb appeal. The food was good, the service was friendly and efficient and even the owner came out to greet us and talk passionately about his restaurant / bar / venue. His energy alone would be enough to make you want to go back. The atmosphere was impacted for us by the fact we were there relatively early and mid-week just after the choasof the festival. Normally this place can be packed.

Great food and drinks, awesome and fast service! Cameron is wonderful, as well as the dj, who surprised us with greek music, when he learned that we are from Greece! The hospitality was incredible!

Amazing as always with out a doubt the atmosphere is impeccable, food is amazing the flavours just explode in your mouth plenty verity of drinks to choose from, service is top notch, staff are always welcoming and happy to assist with any needs to accommodate as well as they can. Will always be my go to spot when I’m in the city.

We were wandering around and came upon Baruno by chance. We had a 3 “small plates” and a some cocktails. All delivered by amazing and friendly staff. The owner was great and it was lovely to hear about the bar / restaurant from him. The music was at an enjoyable level for us. It was a great atmosphere. One brilliant part was the ladies toilets, beautifully planned. The whole place just had a great vibe about it. It we lived in Edinburgh would definitely go again and again. Loved it!!!💃🏼🕺🏼

Absolutely love this place! The vibe is always welcoming and relaxed, and the drinks are top notch. Big shoutout to Kelly behind the bar — she's an absolute gem! Super friendly, always up for a laugh, and she somehow remembers everyone’s order like magic. She made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the city — whether you’re out with friends or just popping in for a chilled night, you’ll be well looked after here. Can’t wait to come back!

If I could give the service 0 stars I would. Drinks came after our food we har to chase these. Staff not interested in serving their customers There was plenty of staff and was quiet for a Saturday night. Was excited to try Brazalian but food was disappointing and burnt. Food was precooked. Would not return and couldn't get out quick enough. A note, a service charge should be optional. Plenty other attentive and better restaurants in George Street for the same price.

Really disappointing visit. We got sat at a high table and asked if we could sit at a booth since we were ordering food and they said they would check. We then saw two members of their staff sit in the booth instead. It took about 30 minutes for our drinks to come and they arrived after our food. We ordered some food with excitement to try some Brazilian style food and were very disappointed, the food was overcooked and burnt tasting, very dry. We could actually see from our high table seat right into the kitchen and it was clear a lot of the food is frozen and then heated in a microwave which was disappointing for the cost. The service was basically non existent, it took a long time to place our order and members of staff were standing around chatting and looked like they were having a drink themselves. We then got up to pay and could have honestly walked out and no one would have cared or noticed. It was a chore for them to have to put our bill through and they added a service charge on top. There was only 2 of us dining so this is not what I expect but you do see it more and more now. Would not return or recommend to any of our family/friends unfortunately.

Despite it being a quiet evening, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and their attentive service truly enhanced our visit. ❤️ Now, let's talk about the food! The quality was absolutely top-notch, with every dish bursting with flavor. We were all impressed by the creativity and freshness of the ingredients, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the exceptional dining experience we received. It’s a rarity to find such great value without compromising on quality! To top it all off, Baruno was playing the best music, which created a lively and enjoyable ambiance. I even caught my mum and son dancing along to a few songs, which added an extra layer of joy to our evening. It’s not every day that a restaurant can bring a family together like that! Overall, I can’t recommend Baruno enough. We left feeling satisfied and happy, and I can’t wait to visit again soon. If you’re looking for a fantastic dining experience with delicious food, great drinks, and a welcoming vibe, Baruno is the place to be! 🌟
