Barbar
About
Just off Viru Street in the Tallinn Old Town, Barbar is an unmissable metal music bar housed in a historic medieval building set against the old defence wall. Look for the heavy metal horns above the door to find your way in. Inside, the decor is all black, with iron chandeliers lit by flickering candles, enhancing the atmosphere. Spread across two floors, Barbar offers group seating on the upper level, creating a cosy yet lively space for metalheads. Sip on local (handcraft) beers and ciders from tap or can, including Barbar’s own brew. To end the night sample one of their signature cocktails or take a mischievous Barbar Shot! With cozy interior, and welcoming guests every day, Barbar is a must-visit for fans of metal music in Tallinn.

Knew this place was going to be great when Cryptopsy's Crown of Horns was playing as we walked in through the door. Excellent beer and peaty whisky, friendly bar staff who gave us info about Tallinn's metal scene and kept the death/black metal ticking over beautifully (definitely one of the best playlists I've heard in any metal bar). Wish we could've spent much longer here.

Fantastic laid back bar with friendly staff and great, cheap drinks. Fantastic vibes. It’s like a tiny cave inside - cosy, dark and atmospheric. I went there twice, sat outside late at night in summer, chatted to other visitors to Tallinn and had a great time. Fantastic atmosphere and a must-visit for metal heads. I can imagine this would be the place to be before or after a big concert.
