These little nice light patterns are the result of the sun reflecting from the windows of the house next door to a house I inspected recently. With time and rising temperatures, these sun reflections will most likely melt the vinyl siding. Average vinyl siding can become soft at 160 -165 degrees Fahrenheit. Double panes low-e window reflecting sunlight that can reach 200+ degrees Fahrenheit, more than enough to soften and damage any normal grade or color of vinyl siding. Most if not all vinyl siding warranties do not cover damage due to sun reflection from windows. So what can you do if it happens to you? If it is caused by a window in your house, you can put an awning or a screen over that window and reduce the sun glare. If it’s from your neighbor’s house, there’s not much you can do but maybe plant a tree (far from the foundation as possible), in order to block the sunlight.
